I actually thought he got the ball and it wasn't a foul. I don't even think his dissent was that bad - compare it to Mario Rui who yelled in the ref's face and didn't get anything.

However, despite all that, I still blame Barella. At this point, he has a reputation with referees and any minimal dissent will get a reaction from the ref who may not react the same to a different player. It's similar to when a player has a diving reputation and doesn't get calls another player would. It's all of his own making.

As per transfermarkt, the guy has 7 yellow cards this season in all competitions, SIX of which are for dissent and one for a foul (vs. Lazio).

His on field behavior needs to change tho, this is effecting our way of play when he gets a yellow card. When the ref whistles he will not turn back his decision, Barella should accept it instead of whining all the time.

6 cards only for whining is too much. Club should start to fine him for it, maybe Beppe then has enough money for a backup striker

I still rather see him have a rest before the Juventus game than him missing Juve. We can do this without him.

I doubt Barella will really change. Maybe he'll get a bit less yellows for talking back/bitching, but he'll keep doing it, I'm sure.

I've noticed that Barella likes to complain and whine mostly when he plays poor. Yesterday he wasn't on his usual level and made some wrong decisions in the first half, and he immediately started waiving his hand and complaining in almost every occasion.

It's part of his personality. I'm fine with him being full of grinta, but at least he has to master his emotions otherwise he'll be exposed in every difficult situation. Last night was pretty damn unnecessary to get a yellow card for that, because that was a foul, a very clear one actually, so he didn't had any reason to bitch about it.

What frustrates me, is when he's having a stinker and yet again he bitches about teammates or moans about anything else rather than focus on his own shit.

I still adore him as a footballer. It's been a while since we've had such an elegant player in midfield. Just needs to get his shit together and act like a real man. It's okay to get out of yourself sometimes, but not in a regular basis lol.

I actually think it’s good to have some players willing to pick up yellows sometimes. I just wish he didn’t waste them on mouthing off and instead on a hard slide tackle into Leao and Vlahovic.
