He did the same thing (along with Mkhi) against Lecce a couple weeks ago, trying to set up Arnautovic for his first league goal with Inter rather than taking a better shot chance himself.

I'm extremely aware of the idea of trying to boost the confidence of your strikers by getting them on the score sheet, but you do that kind of stuff when you're in control of the game. Up 2-3 goals, etc., not when the game is still in the balance. If you can get them the ball in a better position, go ahead, but if you're in the better shooting position, it's not selfish to go for the goal yourself.
I think Barella is very important to maintain the locker room in a good spirit, he's not selfish, he tries to have everybody on great conditions and sometimes he fights like a true warrior.

But yes, you can't put tour teammate ambitions before the team.

Let's hope he understands, the goal would have been canceled so no consequences here.

On another football forum somebody said EURO 2020 was a fluke and that Italy doesn't really have a talented generation. To me this is the best generation since 2010
wait-what-wait-a-minute.gif

Between 2010 and 2018 Italy had jorginho, Veratti, De Rossi, Di Natale, Cassano, Chellini (wormy cocksucker), parolo (lol), prime insigne, belotti, Immobile...
I write this here because some people say that Barella isn't even a top50 player in the world, which to me is riridiculous.
It was more ridiculous when he was dubbed a top 5 midfielder in the world.

Well just have to disagree, bro. Did those players you mentioned play as good as in their prime in the 2010-2018? Except for Chiellini, nah.

I'm not a fan of Jorginho or Insigne. This next generation have proven they have more potential to win (and they have won too)

I know one after another..but imagine Barella missed that empty net and we are equalized, thats a Radu level fuckup.

This is not a charity match ffs. Be serious with the 2nd star especially as the vice captain. I hope Inzaghi slaps him in the dressing room to wake tf up.

They. Did. Not. Play. As. Good. As. Now.

I love Pirlo, great footballer, but as a whole, the Italian NT is better now. That is my only point.

I know it wouldn't count; however, the way he missed that empty goal was unforgivable. We've had a collection of these kinds of mistakes that have cost us a number of Scudettos.

His decision to pass the ball to Sanchez was awful, but it doesn't matter. If he scored instead, the goal would have been disallowed because of the penalty.

Scoring or not isn't the point. But slapping him is to fix his attitude to avoid a relapse. Which gonna be extremely expensive.

Got lucky that he didn't get booked by kicking out the ball like that.
Probably better if he would have missed the Monza game then still having that risk with 4 big games soon. Him & Hakan both walking a tight rope.

Barella passed the ball not to flex, but to give Alexis the goal, to get him more involved as well. Forwards need goals, Barella knows this. This team is very united no matter how much shit and slander you people talk here.

Lol, bro, idiots like us on a forum do not influence the team. Barella made a brain dead decision, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Bro, of course I didn't mean forum people affect the team. I mean people here keep just moaning, complaining, slandering and mocking players. Some day one could try to think the reasons behind players' actions.

I explained why Barella did what he did.

I know it's easier to simplify everything to "he did a dumb thing" but I want more.

You want more or you want to turn the form into garden of eden? What would you expect people to say in a forum? Just be happy and positive all the time and singing hallelujah in the sunshine? It's a forum. People come here to share their views and feelings. Sometimes it might get too far, but it's no crime to complain about a fuckup. I'm sure the players hear worse stuff from the stands and the opposition's players.

Barella's issue on finishing is lack of composure. His shooting in overall is pretty good, also has shown to be able to score from freekicks. But he's way too nervous in front of goal. He wouldn't score so many golazos if his shooting wasn't as good as it is.

That wasn't that easy of a chance to score. He's shown decent composure at times - both goals this season actually, but in general he does lack composure. I think he's been very good overall recently though. This season he's not getting too many goals/assists but his performance level over the last month has been good imo.

He's contributed to quite a few goals without getting 'assists' as well - both our goal against Genoa and Frattesi's winner vs. Verona came from Barella shots parried by the keeper. He also had a great assist for Arnautovic against Lecce, but the latter missed a sitter.
