If anything, this means that there'll be almost nothing about new infrastructure in Italy.

Maybe Rome gets a new stadium and that's it.

The geography doesn't even make sense.. i hate these joint bids.

Netherlands and Belgium, fine
Switzerland and Austria, fine
UK and Ireland, fine

Poland and Ukraine, bit of a stretch
Italy and Turkey, quite ridiculous
It's absurd, but the reality is these competitions cost a ton of money to host and this is the easiest way to make them manageable.

Euro 2016 used 10 stadiums. Let's assume that they're going to need 5 stadiums in Italy to host this tournament.

San Siro - obviously
Olimpico - obviously

Everything after that becomes hairy.

Napoli's stadium is a dump and doesn't deserve to host a match, but the only other options in the south are Bari and Palermo. Are you really going to make fans travel to Bari?

Florence is a no-brainer for me.

Then you have to choose between Juventus' stadium, Bologna's, or Genoa's. I imagine they give the nod to Juventus because it's newer?

Blame FIFA, blame UEFA, increasing number of teams for tournament means very hard to host in one nation.

They say they have to build 2-3 new stadiums as the others aren’t good enough. Juves stadium is mentioned alongside that Of GM and Olympico. These should be the only one qualified for hosting events, but still it is probably requires they are brought up to date to some extent (except Juves)

Where the other 2-3 stadiums will be built is anyone’s guess. But probably Venezia/Verona, Bologna, Firenze/Siena, Napoli, Bari/Lecce, Perugia, Palermo/Catania.

Hopefully they give the finger to norther Italy entirely and build them all in less favoured regions.

I would actually love seeing them build in Lecce, one of my favourite cities in Italy.

Also what’s people issues with Bari, that city could really use some love, it is one of my favourite region in Italy! Bari has at least some charm in comparison to Milano that is one of the most dull cities in Italy. Also not hard getting to Bari I was there last year, there good train and flight down there.

Italy and Turkey officially won a joint bid for the 2032 Euros. We have to hope this helps facilitate a new stadium for us.

Yes, but not with Zhang's. We are not gonna build anything under Zhang/Suning ownership. Period.

They are also not likely going to build a stadium for neither Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma nor Lazio, unless said club want to pay all expenses or accept it as yet another loaned stadium. Fiorentina has also tried getting their own again this might speak against Firenze as a location.

Logic would normally say by the biggest city

Roma = Olympico
Milano = GM
Napoli = New
Torino = Allianz
Palermo = New

But Italy with its infamous Italian bureaucracy and corruption it’s less straightforward. Also they like to place stadiums in places with cultural significance.

Hopefully at least one of those new stadium is granted to Puglia, Basilicata or Calabria. Heck even Marche, Abruzzo, Umbria and Molise would be acceptable. But knowing Italy it’s probably Lombardia, Veneto, Toscana

all the European economic powers have either recently hosted or will be hosting. FIFA and UEFA are rolling in money. Countries want to host football tournaments. Olympics, not so much

How many bids were there each for 2028 and 2032?

They want to host them, just not alone, largely because of the investment in infrastructure required to hold it.

That said Italy - Turkey makes absolutely no f sense

You don’t need many bids. If Italy and UK wan it many would not bid against them since they both haven’t hosted in decades (not counting 2020). I would think Spain is gonna get a piece of 2036 in some way especially with the new/renovated stadia.

What are you talking about? Italy has bid for every euro since 2012 and didn't win any of them.

All of the tournament's in that time had at least 3 bids.

Euro 2008 had 7 bids.

Now there are single bid tournament's.

why are you arguing with me. You have no idea what you are talking about. Nobody wants to host these things.

If “knowbody wanted to host” them then they would be in china or the middle east, or in smaller nations. The only change I’ve seen in the tournaments is more multiple nations as hosts. That’s the trend these days

Look like 20 year old leftovers, but really nothing is settles yet, it won’t really be up to our current owners but for who ever in the end buy Inter. Our current is never going to build anything they just have to show there is a plan and that’s really it.

The Cathedral also didn’t look fantastic from above, but from street level I actually think it would look quit interesting.

This is a concept art - it literally means nothing, there will at end be drawn a handful at least they can choose from.

Also we have to remember a club stadium is build to stand decades, it’s not like a WC or Olympic stadium build to be entirely or partially tear down construction and that is not made to be lasting structures. The outer special design is often just poorly built and made to look interesting for a short period. A club stadium also need to be practical for maintenance, for future improvements and upgrades and to hold other events in. This will always mean they be a bit more rational and boring in appearance.

Also modern stadiums is more how these work, latest you can move the entire field around, even lift it up/down, move it outside the stadium on rails. so it’s not destroyed and used under concert as it’s build on a frame on rails.

I would take a new toilet bowl stadia so long as it helps us become a top club
