I am, but I can forgive them if the story is good. Star Wars, Harry Potter, LOTR, Song of ice and fire, all have some chosen one of sorts. However, that's a crucial part of their stories so if you change that, you change their concept.

But yeah, I prefer that in future "the chosen one" theme is eradicated from the stories. Misterious parentage...I guess they don't know how much soap opera these things are.

Star Wars should've ended in 1983. They can't invent something new, obviously. They operate with limited story tools.

If you want an original sw story, go watch Rebels, read the Thrawn books or play Kotor.

Maybe they don't have much to do with the Bible, but the "chosen one" is there. Take him out, and you have an ordinary not that magical, rather realistic story of some factions fighting over something and some of these factions wins at the end.

ASOIAF contains a huge deal of sacred rules, ancient orders, sworn brothers who "must do that and mustn't do this" stuff. Religion is also HUGE in ASOIAF. Does that make the story bad? Hell no, it's still a great read and there is everything for everyone in it.

Adaptations are one thing, but fun fiction another. I agree to an extent that these adaptations may have various changes and be spiced with fan fiction of the movie makers, though. That's why some readers hate these adaptations, they fell their favourite story is butchered.

Star Trek is a way way way way more interesting Star Wars without laser Swords!!! I don’t get in what of the infinite universes is the new Star Trek trilogy not better then the 9 bullshit Star Wars movies. Watch them without the nostalgic view of childhood. The story is borderline retarded. All the Star Trek villians have a reason to hate and do what they are doing.

In Star Wars as a kid you root for the Nazis and think Space hitler is fking awesome !!! You also love the giant dog and the little teddy bear planet. As an adult you are like ok cool Han is a fking OG pimp.... the main character is a little bitch who wants to smash his sister!! And only 1 chick in a whole universe?

Matrix 1 was awesOne when it came out then everyone copied bullet time. It was in everything. Also where do you go when you over powered your character as much as they did. He is god!!! How can you possibly hurt him!!! Why super man will never be interesting!!! How can you hurt him and only thing he can fight is himself!

Equilibrium was a lower budget Matrix.

You run into the Amazing Spider-Man 2 or Green Lantern issue that instead of making 1 movie you basically have a 2 hour preview of the next 5 in the pipeline. Works for Disney and marvel because they make movies for 6 year olds but you want a teenager or older to like something tell a story that makes sense

Watched some of the Golden Globen nominees/possible Oscar contenders.

Honestly, I don't get modern moviegoers/critics anymore. Lady Bird is an absolutely average coming-of-age story, and those are a dime a dozen. Nothing original or particularly insightful, don't get why it's been heralded as a masterpiece - probably because it had a 100% rating on RottenTomatoes up until recently, people care more about that number than what's actually written on the reviews.

The whole second half could be tossed in garbage. Michael Shannon, however, as always, is excellent as the villain, nobody does bad guys like him these days, pretty much succeeded Gary Oldman in that role, who has moved on to other kinds of roles.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbings, Missouri is pretty much a Coen Brothers movie directed by the guy who made In Bruges. In other words, it's damn awesome. The only one I'll want to rewatch in a couple of years.

Speaking of found footage movies, finally caught up with Chronicle . I don't care for Marvel, but it made me interested in what would be Josh Trank's original vision for the Fantastic Four. Also, it's short. I can't praise short movies enough for not taking much of my time.

I think the idea was to make separate movies in the same universe, each one kinda of a different genre and has its own storyline, i kinda like the idea but the movies overall as standalone movies could have been better but i wasn't bored in any of them and i enjoyed them so i would give each of them 8, 7.5 & 7 respectively.

Haha the Blue tribe were basically Nazis and that’s what Killmonger wanted?

The story was weak and so was the movie.

The female actresses in it totally stole the show. And the bad guy should have been cast as the Black Panther he is a much better actor.

Anyone else notice that Wakanda has a population of like 1,000 people at most? When he gets crown king his audience isn’t even 500 people.

Undeserved Best Picture win for The Shape of Water imo. A very cliché plot, despite the unsual relationship between the lady and the sea dweller. Some plot details were so predictable.

I would have liked Get out to win it. (Haven't watched Billboards yet though)

Sam Rockwell been underrated forever, dude has played a million roles over the years. I am neutral on a lot of movies i saw him in but i can give him that.
