Quick comments:

To be honest we have to be happy that it was 0-0. Our midfield was just pathetic. Hell, they were supposed to play secure with minimal number of lost balls game since we faced fanstastic counter-attack team. Very luckily Milan didn't punish us but our phucking midfielders even offered victory for them.

Defense line managed surprisingly well, I think. Not that they were brilliant or anything but midfielders (all four but especially damn Veron) gave a very hard night for defense. But have to admit that during last 30 minutes our defenders missed unbelievebly many headers in the box that almost costed a gol for us.

We had our changes to score but finishing was extremely poor. Fontana was the best player of Inter. Bravo Jimmy.

Emotions are still up hence it's better not to do ratings yet. Probably tomorrow.

I'm very pleased about our game. We looked rock-solid, and the only time I cursed was when we allowed Ambrosini to head unchallenged at the end.

Hamed, Favalli 5.5? Are you crazy? He's been absolutely brilliant, our best player after Cambiasso! Even my milanista brother agrees!

We kept a clean sheet, looked solid and didn't allow Milan to create a lot.

Our midfield wasn't great but not nearly as bad as Jimmy and others said. You have to consider that Milan was pressing us a lot.

Fontana was freaking great!

My ratings:

FONTANA 8: great game, brave and a very good reader of the play.

MATERAZZI 8: a rock.

CORDOBA 8: a rock.

FAVALLI 9: superb, punctual and committed. Great stuff.

J ZANETTI 6: a bit quiet.

VERON 5: good first 30 minutes, too many mistakes afterwards.

EMRE 6: good defensive job.

STANKOVIC 5: not brilliant, maybe he was tired after Valencia.

CAMBIASSO 9: our best, once again. He must be a starter now. NOT ONE MISTAKE.

ADRIANO 6: Nesta was in top form, he couldn't do a lot.

VIERI 6: no space for him.

MARTINS and VD MEYDE too little time to judge.

You are comparing him with the early-season Favalli who just sucked. He is improving now but not to the level that we need.

Did you see the enormous amount of space Milan's right midfield and Cafu specially were given? They were given enought time and space to choose a target and cross at ease.

And when I get back home and watch TV for 20 minutes or so, the TV breaks down and can now not be used and I have to pay all of my salary (which means that my family won´t receive the cash they need to keep the apartment) to fix the phucking TV.

Great day

He saved us from a certain goal in the first half with an amazing challenge on Shevchenko. He looked solid and won many challenges.

Milan was playing 3-5-2 when in possession of the ball, with Seedorf going central and Pancaro playing LW. You could expect some crosses to get it, right?

Mancini showed once again that he has guts, taking off Emre for V D Meyde. I love that!

Adriano - #10
Seriously it was a pathetic match overall. The game lacked spirit from both sides. Both attacks were pathetic while the defenses did just enough to stop them.

Hats off to Vieri for blowing chances. I'm really starting to get sick of his blunders. Adriano also pissed me off with his poor 30 yard blasts at goal which are totally useless. He needs to get into the box, but he can't cause calamity Vieri occupies that middle spot and all he is good for is to head the ball from crosses or a tap in or a spin shot.

For the next game I want Vieri out. Not even called up. Cruz deserves to get a chance. I'm sure that with Cruz Adriano could really play well since Cruz would play as the support giving Adriano good passes to run onto and to score from.

Though hats off to Fontana for a great display. This guy really kept the side in the game. It's a shame that he hasn't gotten more chances. I want him to keep starting matches, whether Toldo likes it or not. He is great!

The defence was ok but there were a lot of times of uncertainty. The midfield was also sorta weak. Created some chances but nothing special, especially from Emre and Stankovic who should have done better. Veron did some ok passes but its a shame he couldn't produce anything from FKs. Cambiasso was average.

Anywayz here are my player ratings...

Fontana 9/10
Definately our man of the match. He really scrambled for balls, he was good at catching crosses and was sure of himself when he went out to clear balls. He definately should continue to start.

JZ 6.5/10
He didn't do much on the offensive end, but he was effective on the defensive end. Nothing special though.

Cordoba 6.5/10
An ok performance. He managed to stop the other team from scoring but getting an early yellow probably hurt his aggressive side which really could have helped out. Overall average.

Materazzi 7.5/10
Good ole Matrix was solid. He didn't make any noticeable mistakes. He stopped the attack from doing much and he also made some key clearances.

Favalli 6.5/10
He was left alone A LOT on the left to defend against the likes of Kaka, Cafu, and Pirlo. He did better than I thought he would. Clearing the balls sometimes. Though he lacks an attackive presence but I guess against Milan that can be excused since his main job was to defend.

Camibasso 7/10
To be honest I didn't see a lot from Cambiasso. He wasn't great but he didn't do poorly. He helped out in the defence and tried to help out in the attack. Not bad, but he's done better.

Veron 6/10
Veron had some FK chances but he didn't do much with them. Though he did have some nice passes where we could have scored but the attack didn't do anything really with them. It was also nice to see him come back and help the D though he has to put in more effort, especially when the midfield is so attack oriented.

Stankovic 6/10
I barely noticed that Stan was on the pitch. Other than taking some far away shots he didn't do much. Definately an off night for him.

Emre 5/10
A poor display from Emre. No real heart, no passion. He did have a nice 1-2 play with Veron early on but he didn't do much. Definately not the Emre I'm use to seeing. I'm expecting a lot more from him. If he doesn't bring it to the table then its definately time for Karagounis to play.

Vieri 4.5/10
Simply put Vieri's play disgusted me. It doesn't matter if he tried or not, if he had heart or not, if he put a lot of effort (which he didn't) he simply couldn't do his job which is score. Vieri is useless with the ball at his feet. The only chance of him scoring in this game was if he could get good crosses which he didn't really. He had the best 2 chances to score but he didn't. Definatley a poor display from V32.

Adriano 5.5/10
I sorta blame Vieri for Adriano's poor display. Since Vieri occupies the middle that leaves Adriano in no mans land either on the left or right wing. He's a freakin CF for crying out loud. He put out some effort but the main chance he got he blew it. I know a 5.5 may be harsh, but this is Adriano were talking about. The team rests on his shoulder. 2day he didn't bring his A-game.

Martins and Van der Meyde weren't on long enough to be really effective so I didn't rate them. Though did someone else come on? I can't remember?

I don't really see how taking Emre off fo Andy VDM was gutsy. Thats a basic move that Mancini has been making. Taking off Vieri at half time for Martins would have been gutsy but I'm sure as hell it would have been an effective move.

One thing is for sure, the 258th Derby della Madonnina couldn't live up the expectations the fans had. It was a disappointing and quite dull match. Another thing we have to admit is that, we were lucky to escape with a draw since in the second half it was all Milan. They tried to do something, but obviously they too were probably just thinking too much about midweek win against Barca.

After the 10 good minutes we had in the beginning we totally gave the control to Milan. Our midfield was a disgrace, especially Veron was horrible. He didn't do anything right (well that one good free kick, but nothing more). Stankovic and Emre too were disappointing, though he was the best of the "deadly trio". Our striker duo had certainly an off day, but with that kind of serving from midfield they recived today, you really can't blame them.

In the end we won a draw and Milan lost it.

My ratings:

Jimmy Fontana: 8 :star::star::star:
- magnificent performance, certainly our best player and saved our ass. Toldo should be really worried since Jimmy's form is incredible

Il Capitano: 6
- was quite invisible and didn't attack at all, though was solid in defense

Cafe Colombia: 6.5
- impressive defending occasionaly, good interceptions, lost one header to Sheva, but luckily his header went wide.

Matrix: 6
- made two bad mistakes, but other than that was ok, he is just too slow

Favalli: 7 :star:
- our best defender today, was rock solid in his flank, several good interceptions, excellent save against Sheva after Matrix's mistake in the end of first half, Favalli also managed to pull out one or two good crosses

Chuchu Cambiasso: 7 :star::star:
- Our best 'midfielder'. This man is simply awesome, his interceptions and steals are fantastic, did more in the offense than Veron. He even tackled Rosetti (ref) :D

Veron: 4 :yuck:
- Like said the worst man on the pitch, slow, horrible passes and crosses. His set pieces are also awful, his corners are a disgrace and I could give better free kicks. With the ball he just keeps it too long. I'd rather had Cristiano in his place or even Rebecchi.

Emre: 6
- Tried a lot and made a few good passes to Bobo and Adriano, but still was 'lost' with the ball, made good steals and played good defensively.

Deki: 5
- well it was an off day for him, keeps the ball too long, maked stupid challenges again (almost injured an opponent). His way too hotheaded, when he was supposed to run back and defend, he just preferred to stand and whine.

Bobo: 5.5
- should've scored from the first chance, lost the ball too easily many times.

Adriano: 5.5
- didn't get the ball much, but when he did, he tried to do everything by himself. Blew an excellent chance just before the break, when Vieri was standing all alone in front of the goal, but he preferred to shoot it wide. Very bag match especially in Adriano standards

Subs didn't play enough.

Mancio: 4.5
- again waited way too long until the first sub, didn't use the third sub at all, let Veron destroy our game for the whole match.

The Eurosport commentators agree with me and disagree with many of you, they said that this was a high-level match, with brilliant performances from both teams. To bad you see it in a negative way.

V D Meyde is far more an attacking player than Emre is mate.

Never seen as boring derby as this was. Not happy with the draw, but i guess it´s better than nothing...

Only three players played like they should, others performances were below average. Those three i think played quite good were Fontana of course, Cambiasso and Favalli. I´m quite sure many of our players were tired. Three day rest is too little.

We had few chances to score, but overall Milan was way better tonight.

BDragon2k2: Your Vieri bashing is just way off the line. Actually our strikers weren't the problem today, our midfield totally failed to create any chances to them.

Quick things i wanna say before going...

Our man of the match Fontana plus Cambiasso gutsy performances...Without them we would have been in big trouble :star:

Their best two Nesta and Kaka...

Mancini should have brought in Martins much earlier same with VDM (who should have crossed at one occassion instead of dribbling)

Yeah, that was frustrating to see. Instead of crossing when Vieri was in the area he elected to outdribble Cafu and Pirlo. Very bald but very bad decision in my opinion.

I also agree that our forwards weren't provided with ammunitions. All the chances were from individual creativeness or a rare good pass by our midfield.

Isn't it good to know that we tied Milan, and kept a clean sheet for that matter, when our midfield had their worst game of the season?

Hamed well said habib, Even having the best players doesnt give u the best results if they are not glued. anyway I dont agree with u on Favali, cause if u notice in the 2nd half Ancelloti had to tell his players to focus on the left side where JZ is, cause Favali kept Cafu calm, maybe once or twice he wasnt up to it but comm'on we are playing Milan too.

I think both teams were up to eachother level, we cant say we are lucky to get a draw, cause I believe they would think the same after our clear chances, so I just think its a fair result, even though Emre, Stank, and Veron weren the same we saw vs. Valencia and that costed us some brilliant moves in teh midfield, otherwise they defended well.

Fontana was amazing, also Nesta, Kaka they really stopped us many times and costed us yellow cards from kaka, without Nesta, I am sure we would have seen Adriano scoring.

The game is gone and Derby Milano technically on Milan pitch ended with a draw, hopefully when its our home match we will end it with a win :)

Hopefully we will do good against Lecce (2nd on the table   ) and Juve would face Roma on Thursday..

I enjoyed the game even though it didn’t have any goals. Adriano and Vieri both had good opportunities to score and it is a shame they couldn’t take them.

I was very disappointed with a lot of Veron’s crosses and corners, the whole of our midfield did not have a good game but I was especially disappointed with Veron. In contrast I was happy with our defence as I thought they did a good job. Fontana was excellent with some great saves :star: and our defenders worked hard to try and limit Milan’s scoring opportunities. There is still a long way to go with our defence but it is encouraging to see.

Overall I thought we had an ok game and a draw is always better than a loss!
