I'm liking him a lot, particularly his urgency when he judiciously moves wide to catch an opponent. The area between the CBs and FBs has been a problem for years, and he doesn't hesitate to quickly close in on a ballholder wide of the goalpost. Spaletti seems to be drilling the MFs to do substantial defensive work in those situations, good signs that this is happening systematically.

I can see him being suspended a few times throughout the season, but can't blame him for that.

Tbey looked good because of their pace and athleticism. When it came down to it their positioning let them down, they're also very bad at timing tackles and interceptions. This seems to be Skriniar's strongest point though. He knows where and how to stand, when to go for a tackle and he has strength to compensate for all the athleticism and speed he lacks. He's no mettesacker though, he has decent speed as he showee against ribery. He reads the game well and is confident on the ball, great defender.

To be fair, players like Murillo, Jesus and Ranocchia came in Inter's worst period. We never know how they could have developed in a healthy and stable environment with the right coaches. Remember that even Ranocchia was a good player with Bonucci during their Sampdoria time. Inter could be the culprit behind their lack of development.

Exactly. I think this is even more important with defenders than other positions. If the whole shit is in shambles, it's hard to adapt and bring up your own level as a young player.
