I am not so sure. Which could be the big risk of Skriniar from his point of view? A big injury (fracture, cruciate ligaments) who could derail his career. Only then maybe PSG would say stop. He could lose big time.
Benching is unpleasant, but that big bonus and salary will surely allievate the "pain" of beeing benched. The relations with club/supporters is already blocked. Beeing benched or suspended is the best protection from an injury (even if Manuel Neuer could have an word).

Opening game of the season v. Leece was telling. He was arguing with Inzaghi, made 2 mistakes which led to their equalizer, and got subbed off.

This game was in mid- August, when the transfer market was still open and PSG’s offer was probably still on the table.

Why were mere spectators and fans able to see that Škriniar had checked out and people inside the club couldn’t see it.
