Absolutely. I understand going for players past their prime when you have no money to spend but even when you get money from Lukaku the best you can do is Zapata, Dzeko and Scamacca? Fuck off! It's extremely frustrating they choose to play it safe by going for Serie A players instead of taking a rish with a promising player from another league. Please fire our entire scouting department if these are the best names they can come up with.
They spent 4M on Hauge, earn 8M from his sale, its not a miracle really. 21 yrs old, his attributes are good for Bundesliga.
Final letdown numbers coming up. According to [tier 1 source] Marotta will have a reinvesting budget of _ _ mil.
I actually don't agree with this. In terms of lukaku replacement there is no scouting or unearthing some hidden gem, it's too risky, you could literally end up with a massive flop of a player who can't score to save his life. We have to go for a proven player, whatever his age or transfer fee, or else the consequences for the season ahead could be catastrophic. The downside of that is of course that those types of players have zero resale value, but right now, given our situation, I don't think we have the luxury to think about those things. It's one season at a time...Absolutely. But zapata isn't proven!!! He was poor enough and only exploded at atalanta as many other players have!I actually don't agree with this. Well he exploded, and he scored goals with atalanta, many goals in fact, that's as proven as you can get with limited budget. I'm talking about risk of ending up with someone who don't have even that in his credentials, and then what? But zapata isn't proven!!! Worst Inter transfers summer I've ever witnessed!
Not a single convincing transfer so far
HonestlyRetaining Kolarov was like a new signing.
Stop man. Hakimi will not only hurt this summer, it will continue to hurt for years.Honestly
renewing him hurt me
More than letting Hakimi leave….
I thought about something like that. What I consider one of the strenghts of Inzaghi is developing and improving players. What happened to Keita Balde rummours? I would take him. Should be cheap and he wants to come here? Inzaghi already knows him and he was good with Immobile at Lazio. Maybe Inzaghi would make similar shit with Lautaro and Keita?
But now try to snath Locatelli and make a move for Lazzari and Onana.
Brozo might be leaving so Locatelli would be perfect. Maybe trow Agoume in that deal? I bet Sassuolo would be interested, but dont know how big Juve supporter Locatelli is, so it might be hard to convince to come to Inter?
Lazio needs funds and Lazzari is already familiar to Inzaghi and his system.
Maybe Onana would be interested to come here cause Handanovic is at his last season at Inter and there is longterm starting position available?
Brilliant post, agreed with every word.I'm not saying his position is easy, but I'm not too far off on agreeing. With little of the window left, Zapata reeks of the 'easy', uninspiring and ultimately expensive choice - same stature, same strengths, just worse in every department.
Re: Marotta, he also hasn't managed to offload one single player for a transfer fee. When we've gotten rid of players, we pay for it (Joao Mario, soon to be Nainggolan and Vidal), or loan them out, paying some of their salary (Pinamonti, shortly) even though we have a bloated squad with players we don't need. Why isn't Vecino or Gagliardini on their way out? What is Lazaro still doing here? What's the deal with Perisic? He was giving a (admittedly, cowardly and disgusting) order to gain 80 million, and did so by selling the best wing-back in the world, and now soon one of the best strikers in the game (although not his choice). Maybe we could at least try to offload players that have no use to us? Even Milan are getting 12 million for Jens Petter fucking Hauge, but it seems we don't even try.
If Lukaku is sold, his statements of no more stars being sold were outright lies - allthough, again, not due to him, but still.... bad, bad optics.
We also have some urgent contract situations that need attention, namely Barella, Skriniar and most importantly Brozovic. And yet, no news.
One of his hands are tied behind his back, but still I'd expect more from supposedly one of the best sporting directors in the game. This is turning out to be a wretched transfer-window pretty much no matter how you look at it, and no matter how much you want to blame Suning.
