I'm actually surprised that we aren't making any effort to get rid of him. From what we saw from the first half of last season, Ranocchia will be at the bottom of the pecking order, Mancini will deploy Medel in defence before resorting to Andrea, and now we have Andreolli again to offer even more competititon for the spot. It also concerns me that we haven't been approached by any of those clubs that used to chase him in the past, like Bologna.

The transfer fees are spread over the years of the contracts for the new players (amortization). So Candreva is about 5.5M (22M / 4) and Gabigol is 5M (25 / 5 presumably) in this year's books (if I've understood it correctly how this works). However we also had to buy Eder and Jovetic this summer (or was Eder to be paid this summer?). Anyway, those prices are also spread so it's not full transfer fees to this summer nevertheless.

Also when we add JJ as plus to our books, the acquisition price is reduced from that. I think we got JJ for 4M€ but it was 4 years ago so almost all of his acquisition value has been amortized. Basically we get that full 10m€ as plus to our books (dunno if it was 4 or 5 year contract initially).

Someone correct me if I've understood something wrong, browha or anyone?

Bevore i start let me say that i m not 100% on what the FFP rules are or how the rules are excactly in football but from what i know from
normal accounting:

On the financial side this whole thing is a bit more complex than you guys think. First of all when we pay for the player it does or should not effect our P&L. Since Imo players should be looked at as assets, since we usually need them for more than what you would call one operating cycle (one season), this means when we buy them we have to capitalize them in our books as assets and then depreciate them over the length of the contract. In this case Only the amount depreciated and the salary of the Player will effect the P&L no matter if we pay now or in 2 years. So the payment of the transferfee is only a swap of cash for a asset but our P&L does not get effected.

The payment structure does not matter that much when it comes to P&L, of course it s always better to pay late but with todays interest rates that diffrence should be very small especially on a sum of 20mio. Now I m not sure if there are any Cash flow requirements in FFP, but i guess us structuring the deals like this is more of a CF than a P&L thing. Also like cafe stated there are still a lot of players we need to pay this window who are already here for some time so i guess enjoy made it a bit to simplistic.
Anyways also for them it still goes that the moment of payment is not the moment we have to report the cost. When it comes to loaned players i guess we are only capitalizing them the moment their loan ends and they become our players so again JOJO s cost will not drop entierly on this summer.
Anyway bottom line when we pay has very little to do with when we report the cost and it will not effect our P&L as much as people in here think, Imho more of a CF consideration.

Also it seems like people here think that Lotito is stupid because we pay him those 23 mio over 4 years, I m pretty sure we could have close at around 18/20 if we would have paid the money up front.

Also Browha or Bluenine feel free to correct me or ad to the CF part as i said i m not familiar with the exact FFP regulations.
