I am hoping that Taremi's presence and goals will help Arnutovic to understand that his playing time is going to be limited which will lead him to leave
I thought you would say, Arna will pick his game as well)

I wish his contract ended a year sooner. That or Porto actually asking a reasonable fee last summer. He is who should replaced Dzeko and not Arnautovic.

Lautaro, Thuram, Taremi, and Sanchez would have been a pretty nice rotation with a good balance of skill sets last season. Although I suppose we’re 3/4ths of the way there now. But Arna offers us virtually nothing other than being a lockeroom mascot, for which we could have just brought back Berni for a Gregg’s sausage roll.

Damn! I was expecting him to start the first match of the season... Wishing Taremi a speedy recovery!

Meanwhile some words on him:

Ex-Inter coach excited to see impact of new signing Taremi

Former Nerazzurri boss Andrea Stramaccioni, the first Italian tactician to coach in the Iranian league, feels Mehdi Taremi can make the difference under Simone Inzaghi this season.

Stramaccioni, the first Italian tactician to take charge of an Iranian club spoke about the experienced striker during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Iranian footballers usually have strong personality and, Taremi has always settled well at new clubs. I’ve never coached him, but I know him well. He is a hard worker and he’s always had the right attitude inside the dressing room,” he said.
Inter are ahead because of their solidity and the project’s continuity,” insisted Stramaccioni.
“Aside from Atalanta and Roma, all other top sides have changed coaches. This will give more enthusiasm, but they’ll need more time to adapt.”

Taremi has already arrived in Milan and is expected to undergo the second part of medical tests by the weekend before signing his contract with the Nerazzurri.
“I remember that he was not a starter at Porto when he arrived, but thanks to his performances, he convinced Conceiçao to give him playing time,” continued Stramaccioni.
“The coach even changed the system for him.”

Does he agree with Lautaro Martinez, who said Taremi would help Nerazzurri hold the ball up front?
“Absolutely! Especially for one reason. Taremi is a specialist when it comes to playing with another striker,” Stramaccioni replied.
“He has always done it in his career. The fixture list will be packed and Taremi will have to adapt to different strike partners.
“Simone Inzaghi can entirely focus on him during the pre-season with Thuram and Lautaro, who will arrive after international tournaments later on.
“Taremi is an experienced striker who can score many goals. He fills the box and is a complete forward with physical strength and strong on aerial duels. He will be a valuable alternative to Lautaro and Thuram, who dominated the last season. Marotta and Ausilio completed an important signing, especially because he joined on a free transfer.”
I`m sure he will score many goals! We seem to finally have gotten our Cruz.

he might still make it for the first match. Granted hamstring strains are a bitch but if its a muscular issue i wouldnt push it. Give him a month to rest and reset. His presence is pivotal if we're going to compete for another scudetto.

Also, if they are not re assessing til next week, I think its a safe assumption nothing is torn. So he will be okay in time. No major worries for me.

Season over my brothers.

EDIT: adding interview with former Perugia and Livorno defender in Tuttosport
The assistant coach of Iran Rahman Rezaei is happy for his compatriot Mehdi Taremi
“Mehdi is an excellent player, a true leader. He’s capable of holding the group together, he is always close to all his teammates. In Iran, he is considered the strongest of all, together with Sardar Azmoun.
“I Believe he did well to join Inter. In fact, this is a late move, as he should have arrived earlier. Never mind, he will prove himself now with the Nerazzurri.”

The Iran assistant coach then dwelled on Taremi’s attributes, explaining how Simone Inzaghi will be able to utilize him.
“We’re talking about a player who moves a lot on the pitch. He goes forward, left, right, and even tracks back. Marking him is very difficult.
“Inzaghi will be able to deploy him in any position in the attack. And even as a second striker if he wants. He will certainly do very well for Inter.
“Taremi is technically strong and has a strong mentality. He has speed, he takes penalties well, and he knows how to free himself.
“Inzaghi is very intelligent, tactically strong. His team usually dominates the league. The midfielders and the wingbacks push forward. This can help Taremi score many goals.”

Finally, Rezaei praised Inter for their style of play, considering them an exemplary European club.
“Inter’s attacking football, can help Taremi thrive. Inzaghi uses the qualities of his players to the fullest.
“The team plays very well and scores a lot. They are an exemplary club for all of Europe.
“With Lautaro, Taremi can do very well. The Argentine holds the ball well, and makes the team move up the pitch, while Taremi’s movements can be useful to the whole team.
Excellent

EDIT: Legendary former Iran and Bayern Munich striker gave glowing reviews of Taremi in an interview published in print edition of GdS

Ali Daei: “Mehdi Taremi A Great Striker & Incredible Signing For Inter”

Legendary former striker Daei certainly knows what it takes to score prolifically as an Iranian international.

“Taremi is a great striker,” the former striker said.
He can score at least fifteen goals next season,” Daei predicted.

He also made the bold claim that Taremi is “The best striker in all of Asia.”
“On a free transfer, it’s an incredible deal,” Daei said of Inter’s signing Taremi.
“Considering what he’s done at Porto over the last four seasons.”
“More than ninety goals. Decisive goals in the Champions League. Multiple trophies.”

Daei also suggested that Taremi can form an effective partnership with either Lautaro Martinez or Marcus Thuram equally well.
“Taremi knows how to adapt to any situation,” the former Iran striker said.
“Either playing as a first or second striker. Next to a pure number ten or number nine.”
“He and Lautaro are a duo who could score forty goals between them,” Daei predicted. “At least on paper.”
Can`t wait for the majority of FIF to realize what kind of bargain we got ourselves

Don't have one.
Season over my brothers.
I know you are joking but every time this type of injury happens to our first bench option we have to have certain negative thoughts, just because arna is not up to it, and sanchez was barely up to it, and it's like that for years now. I don't even remember the last time we had all around depth in attack.

Now compare that to midfield where we have great depth and frustration rises immediately, and that's just a result of not doing a great job in scouting bench options in attack and keeping them too long after we find out there are bums. Let's face it, arna should have been told he needs to fuck off even before euros, instead we are most probably gonna keep him for whatever fucked up reason. In other words, I don't feel there is pressure towards him to fuck off, and there should be, especially if we are planning to play with just four strikers like last season.

There is a solution, getlemen. It requires a public apology, truth and reconciliation for a witchhunt that smeared and scapegoated him, but Mauro Icardi is the best option.

Never. Cunts like Icardi and Skriniar don`t deserve a second chance.

After so many years of hard work, let`s not ruin the current and team harmony and locker room atmosphere.
