That isn't the story actually. Qatar Airways acted like cry babies because Inter used the name "Persian Gulf" in Taremi's introduction video. Inter then deleted the video, removed the Qatar Airways logo and posted it again with the same context. This move was greatly admired by Iranians.

Well, Inter removed Qatar from his intro clip. It seems like they don’t like him!
When Qatar was air and landlocked by their Arab brothers (Saudi UAE etc..)
It was Iran that open the air space to them.

It's always been called the Persian Gulf.

We got our new Julio Cruz. Might bench Thuram if he continues like this after offseason tho.

I love how he uses his body to plan his run, you can tell he is not the fastest or the strongest, but fuck me he is so intelligent.

It's always been called the Persian Gulf.

Historically, in the West and Iran yes.

Since the 60s, there's been this ideology called pan-Arab nationalism, whereby in Arab countries they refer to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf

Iran and the Arab countries have been involved in a long-running geographical naming dispute over what has been historically and internationally known as the Persian Gulf. Connected to the Gulf of Oman and thereby to the Arabian Sea through the Strait of Hormuz, it is an extension of the Indian Ocean. In the Western world, the Gulf's namesake is Persia, which is Iran's Western exonym. The name of the Persian Gulf was not contested at a high level until the popularization of Arab nationalism and pan-Arabism around the 1960s, when the Arab countries increasingly sought to suppress Iranian influence in the Middle East and on the international stage. Thus, the toponym "Arabian Gulf" (Arabic: الخليج العربي) or simply "Gulf" was adopted and asserted by Arab governments and Arab media, led by the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf. On the other hand, Iran and Iranian media have asserted the name "Persian Gulf" (Persian: خلیج فارس) exclusively.

I was hoping we would sign him instead of Arnautovic last year. We could have done it to if Porto wasn’t greedy and we were more patient. They lowered their demands with a few weeks left in the window.

Oh well that’s football.

His fitness is way ahead of the curve. Which is good don't get me wrong. But it means he can be total trash when the season starts and everyone else catches up.

Yeah, transfer market is so much about timing. At the time we absolutely needed a striker, Taremi wasn't available for cheap.

And if we're honest, even the "cheap" Milan transfer for 15m€ failed, due to his entourage demanding too much money. So it was in a different ballpark compared to Arnautovic 8m€+2m€ price. Probably closer to 20m€.
