I dont care if he scores 5 goals the entire season as long as the goals he scores are going to be clutch when we are desperately gonna need those points or to boost the team's mentality to comeback at games with that. This is how i see this player, hopefully hes gonna have a great mentality and be a clutcher and not goof easy and IMPORTANT chances.
This. I don’t care about his overall numbers so much as long as he can show up when it matters and not be afraid.

Weird logic here, wouldnt the signings of mega flops like Arnautovic and Sanchez exactly be reasons to doubt our signings?
No, not at all. Taremi is very good, he isn't going to be a starter. I'm a realist not a fantasist.

And who says he can do that?
I imagine quite a few people with informed opinions think so. A transfer is always a gamble regardless— of course he could flop. Even if we go for Zirkzee, he could still flop. We have to be creative with our targets considering our financial limitations.

Sanchez has 4 goals & 5 assists in about 1000 minutes of play

Arnautovic has 5 goals & 3 assists in around the same minutes

As bench players without regular minutes, thats not too shabby. Definitely not "mega flops"

I don't have high expectations from Taremi as a replacement for Sanchez. If he can get similar returns in his first season, its a decent free deal.

The first thing Oaktree should do is to send this Mullah's dickrider somewhere else before he stains this jersey. Milan, Juve, anywhere else but here please.

I see you mentioning this few times here and I was not following this story at all to know what's exactly going on with that. What I remember was him speking against regime during the last WC,no?

Also saw this (two more tweets with his message when you open, seems like that is part of that talk against government during the WC time).

So what is really the story here? I don't get it.

There is an Iranian speaker here. You guys seem to know nothing about my country.

Government and regime are two different concepts here. You can easily criticize the government; it's okay, and even many people who support the regime do that! They criticize the government but say that our regime is perfect and every problem we have had is because of the president, who has been chosen by the people!

How is the president chosen? The regime accepts only a few trusted people as candidates, so there wouldn't be any difference which candidate becomes the president because they don't have real power and also they don't want to address the real problems. They are only puppets.

Mehdi Taremi is one of those who support the regime, and his father is also a big asskisser of them. You guys really think many Iranians, including me, are stupid to criticize this bastard? He has said things even on national TV that regime's supporters say!

During Iran's protests last year, none of the players supported the objections and the people! They claimed, 'We are not politicians and we only want to focus on football.' After this, many Iranians stopped supporting them when they saw these bastards had closed their eyes for their own people.

This is how they have deceive the world for years and people of the world think iran's president has power the same the us president.

If you like his football and his sport character i have nothing to say but please don't try to justify him in terms of politics.

Yes, but criticizing the government that was handpicked by the regime, it's still brave.

I don't think anything. I have no idea what is going on in Taremi case, that's why I'm asking here.

Yeah, that sounds exactly like Croatian players supporting criminals in our football in the peak of their power 5+ years ago. That's why so many people actively supported our opponents against their own NT and why we had that situation in EURO 2016 against Czech Republic.
