This guy was never consistent enough for us. A great combination along with Maicon :howler: That was only on paper, never in practise.
after his first season, he's bit inconsistent.... but his first season was quite impressive for me.....I'm still rate him one of the best left back in the last ten years(georgatos also impressed me)......maicon also struggling early on in his first season with inter, but gradually he adapt with italian football and becomes better and better....and in my opinion he perform quite well with maxwell.....
I rarely sees a good left back, good at going foward, pacey, good on the ball like maxwell...(at inter, back in those day), yeah I'm also very disappointed with grosso at that time....nice talking with u dude....ehehehhehe....forza inter and always....

Mourinho wasn't very impressed with him defensively and generally asked to reduce the size of the squad at the time to make a stronger core. Santon had good moments as a left back in 2008-9, we still had Chivu and even Zanetti who could play there, so we attempted to sell Maxwell as he was pretty much the odd one out. Santon didn't do shit of course that year because he had injuries, eventually he was loaned out when Mourinho left.
We could have gotten at least double the amount back then but we were rushing to make the sale, cannot recall why. He probably also wanted to join Barcelona following their offer, 3rd team with his buddy Zlatan and it was the also best team in the world. Didn't leave us much room for leverage.
