@.h. since you ignored the striker partnership situation until 2016, maybe you'll prefer this:
if we take an extreme case where Inter scored 60 goals and Icardi scored all of them, they'd all be important, but it also reinforces the point that more of our goals went through one player.@brehme1989 , just matematically speaking, you should consider total amount of goals Inter scored each year.
Your point is that Icardi had more important goals.... of course he had. What is the chance of a goal being winning if the average score is like 1:0 compared to the average score of 3:0 ? ... Just by pure chance it is way higher.
Not saying your point is invalid, just that you forgot to incorporate this important variable into the play.
I have all that data in another sheet, this is just a specific request about the "usage" of certain strikers' goals.@brehme1989 , just matematically speaking, you should consider total amount of goals Inter scored each year.

Gotta keep the forum alive till next gameNothing like rehashing arguments from 2017 during the Christmas break
Kinda the same stats, when you think about it, no?Mauro Icardi - 19 games in the CL, 9 goals total
Romelu Lukaku - 31 games in the CL, 15 goals total
Give me Lukaku over Icardi any day of the weak.
What you're describing in all caps there is Icardi, not Lukaku, lmao.
Stats wise yes they're pretty comparable. Lukaku over icardi is just a personal view.Kinda the same stats, when you think about it, no?
In any case, we used both to the best of their abilities, but now it's time to move on. Neither of them are irreplaceble.
I use this post as an example but it's a message for the entire forum. We have been trying to be lenient and interfere as less as possible. And what's our reward for this? Dealing with posts full of hate, insults and provocations between members. The members could take our stance in good measure, respect the rules and the other members and have a constructive discussion. But instead people choose to take advantage of it and exchange insults. Enough is enough.Hint2; get his balls out of your mouth

It has been said many times on this forum.
Criticise the post but not the member. Don't insult other members. Don't respond to an insult with another insult. And don't try to bait others.
Mods/Admins hate being overly strict and they would want nothing more than moderation actions being reduced to the minimum. But if being strict is the only way to prevent this forum turning into a place full of toxicity and bickering, we will do it.
Come on folks. We, as a forum, can do better than this.
Yeah, even I dont contest that Icardi is the more clinical finisher than Lukaku. These stats are a bit misleading, as it's clear that Icardi is a better finisher than Lukaku. But, if one takes in account, the whole contribution to the team, for me Lukaku is better, as he drops deep to receive the ball and distribute it. He also can use much better the open space due to his strength and pace. Icardi is nobody outside the box. Spalletti tried to move him wide for a while, and he was utter trash.
Saying that, I think he will fit good in Allegri's ugly football, as few chances created by jube will be focused mainly on Icardi, and he might be very decisive for them. But, i don't see them winning something with those tactics, unless the competition does not drop the quality significantly.
lol. go find me a one ime lukaku dropped back o be another option when inter players had no idea how to get him a ball in his sweet spot when opponent eliminated that option go find me one time he dropped back and become a playmaker/second option to be vocal point for others other then him selfThese stats are a bit misleading, as it's clear that Icardi is a better finisher than Lukaku. Lukaku is an option for long ball, when the opponent does high pressing, and we are unable to carry the ball from the back. If the opponent silence him and continue to high press, most of the time we were pathetic, but this is most on the coach. Anyway, you can see how Lukaku is involved in build up and link up play, and how he dropped back to initiate an attack.lol. go find me a one ime lukaku dropped back o be another option when inter players had no idea how to get him a ball in his sweet spot when opponent eliminated that option go find me one time he dropped back and become a playmaker/second option to be vocal point for others other then him self
showing belgium in most of clips. it was all counter attack basicly with inter, because that is who conte is basically get the ball up ping pong tto incoming playerLukaku is an option for long ball, when the opponent does high pressing, and we are unable to carry the ball from the back. Even in this game against Atalanta, you can see how often he went down to the center line, and behind to receive the ball and to initiate an counter attack.
If one puts this task on Icardi, he will fail in 70% of situations, because of his inability to shield and protect the ball.
