He said to OndaCero "I will consider the offers but im very happy here"

I dont want to be annoying now but i would prefer that he just dont consider offers if he really wants to be our captain. He has already a important name here + captain since 3-4 years or something like that. I dont like the way he talks and always puch to get more money.
As player he can be great as much you want and i think he is really improving this year to be more a team player. but as captain... nope, there is still more to do here for him.

There isn't a player out there who wouldn't at least consider an offer from the elite clubs if it came along and if they say otherwise they are absolute liars. Icardi was at least honest about the fact that he would consider it if it came along, but emphasised that he's happy and not seeking these offers.

He's not going to be one of those players who says he'll leave under no circumstances and then fuck off to Man City less than a week later.

These days if there is somebody who comes close to JZ's loyalty and commitment to his club, then that somebody has to be Icardi. He has matured a lot over the past couple of years and his attitude is exemplary tbh. For some reason I'm pretty sure he will finish his career with us, unless our club is willing to sell him for economical balance or something.

As for him, Mauro doesn't seem willing to leave, besides his affection with our club, fans and everything Inter related is getting better and better. He's growing into a perfect captain.

Retired in 2014, he's no longer a player. These days there are no players that we can say don't have a price and will see out their careers at a club for an incredible amount of time. If Madrid, Barcelona, United, Chelsea or even China come after a player, he'll listen to what they have to offer.

A person who "see out their careers at a club" of course retired, didn't he? 2014 is near enough to count.

There are still other examples. Hamsik, De Rossi come to my mind. And please don't say there is no top club was after them.

Didn't Javier "consider" Real Madrid all those years ago? I'm sure he did.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11835/2213454/real-confirm-zanetti-swap-offer

REAL MADRID have confirmed that they have offered £3.7 million and Miguel Salgado for Inter's Argentine star Javier Zanetti.
As we revealed on Sunday, Real were keen to add Zanetti to a team that now boasts £42 million man Zinedine Zidane.

As expected, rather than pay the full cash value for a player valued conservatively at £14 million, Real have offered Spanish international Salgado as part of the fee.

Internazionale are yet to make a final decision about the future of Zanetti, but new coach Hector Cuper is a known fan of Salgado and may decide that the right-sided player will prove a valuable replacement for the unsettled Argentine.

Zanetti himself is keen to move to Real, after six years in Milan, and views La Liga as the perfect place to once more prove his immense talent.

"We have not yet reached a definitive agreement with Inter, but the talks are heading in the right direction and we are confident that a deal will be completed next week," said a Real club official.

(almost another Cuper transfer fuck up)

---
Zanetti himself confirmed that there were offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona that he rejected.
Here's one of the Real Madrid ones.

The 40-year-old has skippered Inter since 1999, but has claimed that he "was about" to join Los Blancos before taking on the responsibility.

"I was about to leave, for a very important team in Spain, such as Real Madrid," Zanetti told Videonews.

"But if I had to leave, I wanted to leave a mark for Inter. Then I was given the captain's armband and it was a beautiful responsibility. Everything that came after that was something extraordinary."

Well if that was true, JZ keen on the move, the coach like Salgado, he had been there already. The "keen" part is the words from the journalist, probably bs. While what came out of JZ mouth is "I rejected them". And the fact that he stayed.

Edit: of course I meant since JZ was given the precious captain armband.

Hamsik came close to joining a Chinese club in the recent transfer window and said himself that it was Ancelotti that convinced him to stay. As for De Rossi, he was heavily linked with Chelsea after Strootman joined Roma, whether he spoke with them I don't know, but they did seem to be after him. Regardless, we're getting away from the point here. The fact of the matter is that a player won't just say no and not speak to a top club without hearing what they have to say, no matter who they are. They won't just dismiss it without knowing what's on offer.

Icardi is happy here and doesn't want to move, but if a bid was accepted he would absolutely talk to Madrid, but that also doesn't automatically mean he would go.

Hamsik explicitly said he wanted to be sold; ADL refused.
