Point is being in the poster means shit.
You're taking "poster boy" too literally. I mean he's our "star". Kovacic and Guarin were never really considered as our "star players".

You don't sell your star player just before you enter CL :yao: You do it after you've been there, failed and when you're in need of some fresh faces and money to get to those.

From his interview with Inter TV

“After a month and a half on vacation, there is a great desire to start this new season with the Champions League which was our objective last year. It is part of our life to come here and work. This year, it will be a different preseason training camp compared to those that I have done in the past. We will prepare very well for the Champions League but also Serie A as well. We built the foundation last year and we want to continue building on that.

“I welcomed the new signings again today after doing so on social media and on the phone. It was a way of making them understand that we are a big family. We have already done one training session and we hope to continue getting better as training camp goes on.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving Real Madrid to sign with Italian champions Juventus, the Spanish club announced on Tuesday.

The reigning Ballon d'Or winner is set to end his nine-year spell at the Bernabeu with a move to Turin following a rift with Madrid president Florentino Perez over a new contract.

"Real Madrid would like to communicate that we have listened to the wish and request expressed by player Cristiano Ronaldo and have agreed to his transfer to Juventus FC," the Champions League holders said in a statement.

Ronaldo, Real Madrid's all-time leading goal scorer, will leave the club after leading them to four Champions League titles -- including three in as many years -- and he claimed a host of personal accolades and records from his time in Spain including four of his five Ballon d'Or awards.

He issued a statement through Real Madrid calling his time in the Spanish capital as "the happiest years of my life."

"These years at Real Madrid and in this city of Real Madrid have quite possibly be the happiest years of my life," he wrote. "I only have feelings of great gratitude to this club, to the fans and to the city. I can only give thanks to all of them for the love and affection that I have received.

"However, I feel that the time has come to begin a new stage of my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept my transfer. I feel it this way and I am asking everyone, and especially my fans, to please understand me."

The 33-year-old will be tasked with bringing European Cup glory back to Serie A champions Juve, who have been runners-up in two of the past four seasons.

Holy shit it's real...not gonna lie I am sweating a little bit regarding Icardi.

While I don't think that RM would replace 100M Ronaldo with a 110M Icardi, I think they may try an offer that could tempt the front office.

Excited to see CR7 at Juve though, it will be great for the league as a whole. Next year is going to be very interesting.

Relax, Mauro isn't leaving. You can quote me on it.
I really don't know how much more he has to do to demonstrate that he loves inter. Seriously, if he was after more money, accolades, instagram followers, he would have left already. If he ends up leaving it's because inter wants to cash in on him and not because he wants out, which I firmly believe that they do not.
He matured a lot in his role as captain this past season (see Juve and Milan derbies) and he's furthering growing into the role this off-season with his gestures.
He wants a new contract to equal his pay with the best strikers in Europe, and I don't blame him. Sure, sometimes his behaviour on the pitch and on social media annoys me, but it's all part of the package. He's been one of the most consistent forwards in Europe for seasons now and with Mauro, we always know what we're going to get-- a sack of goals.
