It's unfortunate (to him not to Inter) that he has played for Argentina. The Italian NT fits him better and they're lacking talent pretty much in every role, specially his role. Icardi playing for Italy would have been a win-win situation for both.

Obviously it would have been great for Italy to have Icardi instead of people like Eder, Zaza, Pelle, Balotelli and whatever half-assed players who are by far on a lower level than Icardi. Also better for him than competing with Aguero's, Higuain's, Dybala's at Argentina etc.

I agree, maybe that will change now with Belotti starting to look like the real deal, but Italy certainly could have used him at the Euros.

Honestly I just want him to shut up. It's been years, Maxi Lopez was literally cheating on Wanda, and Icardi has actually been pretty damn mature about the situation, and yet Maradona just keeps on bringing it up. Just... just shut the fuck up. Thats it. All you need to do.

Also I kinda hate the title of the article because the implication of the title is that both of them started fighting again, when really Maradona just decided he wanted to start calling Icardi a traitor again. I respect him as a footballer but he really is an idiot

Are they? They've gone to a final in every tournament they've played in for like the last 5 years.

They just lost to Paraguay at home now they have a dogfight to qualify for the world cup, their next two matches are against Brasil and Colombia. It would be a catastrophe in Argentina, worst than when River got relegated, if they don't qualify for the WC.

I've seen more calls for Icardi to get a chance in the Argentinian commentariat, if he keeps playing the way he has for the most part this season I expect the calls to get louder.
