Expecting players to have the same passion for the club that the fans do is unrealistic. I truly feel what Icardi said is the previaling opinion of most players about playing at rival clubs.

Exactly. There is nothing "wrong" with what he said. However, I definitely think it shows a lack of intelligence. Surely it's important for the club captain to have some idea of the right thing to say? There are plenty of other instances that suggest he isn't the brightest tool in the shed as well. This is a far bigger concern for me than him possibly playing for a rival club sometime down the line.

Frankly it isn't of any real importance or of any significance to us that he said such words. It's not like he said "I'm going to juve"; he merely gave a non definitive answer and then acknowledged that it wouldn't be a very good decision. To me, that's actually a pretty smart thing to say, it's definitely better than claiming absolution and then breaking that. And even if it wasn't the perfect answer I don't see why that means we have to question his legitimacy of captaincy over it. If you're gonna question his captaincy, at least let the discussion he about something that's actually relevant to his claim to the band

Someone even threw out medel's name. Just wtf. Medel joined the team literally a year ago, is a controversial starter half the time, and has done absolutely nothing that implies he is more loyal than icardi.

He did not choose to be a captain, the idiotic of a so called management we have appointed him one. I honestly didn't realize people still care who wears the armband anymore, it's probably because we had such an amazing one for so many years people wanna see it happen again. However, it really isn't something to look too much into, if you think Icardi is the leader on the pitch then I don't know what to tell you, he might scream a bit more now and point towards the air but that does not make him the fuckin leader.
