Destro has a long way to go judging by what I've seen from him at Genoa and the Toulon Tournament. But hey, it doesn't mean I'm writing him off. Pazzini struggled as a youngster as have many young Italian forwards over the years for whatever reason. He certainly looked better than Paloschi who's one of their most wasteful forwards I've seen in quite some time.

Pazzini was Serie A's Best Young Player in 2004/05 :p

Big deal...until he proves to be a great player, I won't lose sleep over this.
Yes you won't , because you are not inter's director and you don't put your money over it but after some years if he explodes (and he has the prospect ) you will blame branca for letting him go but it will be too late.

Ya he exploded right onto Genoa's bench last year...

Orly? I only somewhat remember his time at Atalanta. My memory is pretty fuzzy so I'll trust your words

That season was split between Atalanta and Fiorentina as he was sold in January 2005.

Genoa again made a clever deal. They did not ask for pure money but money+player. the value of the player were marked low and selling to us marked high. We are not Milan who marked Greeks Papa to 14 million and Odu Zigoni marked a unreasonable high of 7 to 8 million for doping administration (in accounting co-ownership almost equal to full ownership, just the 50% became another form of asset, but the profit were calculated using full price). Destro goalscoring in U19 & Serie A debut season made him really worth 8 or 10 million, much more solid performance than 10 million tagged Merkal (yet they flopped the Egyptian and German in my pt of view to made selling "profit" higher).

In 2009 they took Bonucci for 3 million, sent to Bari and sold to Juventus for 15.5 (despite Juve did not paid real money but Cris + 2million and Almron 50% plus 5million)

Bolzoni at that time also valued 3 million. Fatic unknown Acqua 14million may be (at that time he worth, god know his recent performance ) MEGGIORINI sold to Bologna for 6 million (3 million in co-own deal)

Motta at that time had a 10 million release clause and they took players valued about 10million on the accounting but actually they profited by loaned/farmed to Serie A clubs to give a chance. A chance made the value flipped to at least 20 million.

They had risk but so far Acqua as part of the deal of Diego (worth 28 million, 14 cash and Acqua ) made them loss.

Lastly they took Longo in co-ownership but loaned back to Inter in 2011-12 season

He just made his first appearance at Siena, against Lecce. Maybe recovered from injury lately.
Played 90 minutes, and got his first goal of this season. good start, good luck

Destro's purchase clause

Destro can be bought permanently by Siena at the end of his loan. Can anyone tell me what is the fee agreed?

He is not an inter player at all so it doesn't matter to us. He is co-owned by genoa and siena.

I know he is not an Inter player. But I guess you can ask about Destro in a thread dedicated to Destro, can't you? :smileani:

He just scored a double for Siena. Against Chievo. None of our strikers could do it.
Question - was he THAT useless and without prospectives that we eventually sold him for a bargain price? Instead we got Castaignos who till now couldn't adopt to Italian football and merges in the field as soon as he gets on the pitch. We got Forlan who scored one goal in 5-6 matches and can't be played in CL till next year but has a salary of a football god. We still have Milito who can't do shit for a long time already. And we sold our best striker for 21 millions.
Our transfer policy is just so amazing.

...Just because he score 2 goals today....Castaignos has 30 apps and 15 goals for Feyenoord when he was 17 and 18...i dont think Destro could do that....break into Feyenoord at such young age and score 0.5 goals per game there....

Castaignos was probably the one of few players to score for Feyenoord, which last year was in the middle of the table in Eredivisie, and I saw those goals. More than a half were like scoring from inside the box into a half-empty goal. It's cool, yeah, but I prefer home-raised player before some incognito guy who is called the new *insert star name of the same position*. Why didn't we try to buy Lukaku then? He proved his worth two years ago. Why not Piatti, who was one of the leaders of Almeria and is super fast super cool and played over9000 matches in La Liga and played a big role in the Clausura and Apertura victories of Estudiantes alongside Calderon and Veron while still a teen? No, instead we would buy Alvarez who is 23 already but earned one friendly cap for Argentina national team and played less than 50 professional matches (which, for an Argentine playmaker/winger, is a sign of him being rather useless). We won't buy 23-year-old Van Der Wiel either, who is already a starter for Holland national team and raised in the world-class Ajax academy, no, we will buy a 25 year-old Brazilian lateral, who was never selected for the national team (yeah, I know that Maicon and Alves are way better but that's not the point). Maybe I am impatient, but if we analize Inter's transfer policy with Moratti (from the very beginning) we will find constant failures with less than half transfers being useless waste of money. Now whose fault is it that now we can't afford a big signing?
Btw Destro already scored 3 goals for Siena in 4 matches.
