I don't understand why he even went for international duty. Chukwueze from Milan had a similar injury and came back at the same time as Arnautovic was not called up by Nigeria. We should have discussed with the Austria team - they already qualified for the Euros last month anyway.

I assume no news on injury yet? I see that it says he got injured in the 86th minute. Austria still had a substitution and took off a different player in the 89th minute so maybe nothing serious?

Obvious thing is that this deal was terrible from the beginning. Some Interisti must, still, find some ways to excuse for him ("she is my gf so I love her regardless" kind of things) :palm: Arnau is injury prone, old, expensive and mediocre as best, tick all the boxes.

Hopefully next time we'd learn, buy no one >>> panic buy as we still have some cash instead. But now it's too fucking late. Stuck with him next 2 seasons.

Rocchi was a far better player, it's just that he almost retired when he joined us.

Even Schelotto was more useful than this guy, at least dude scored in the derby.

Was there any single Einstein on the forum who thought Arnautovic was the right transfer ?
I doubt anyone deemed Arnautovic as the right transfer, but I expected he would be somewhere between serviceable and good (something approaching Sanchez under Conte).

He certainly fit the mould of player we needed.

I don't remember ! That's why I'm asking ?

I did, to be precise, I thought Thuram and Arnautovic would be acceptable additions to the striker department.

I'm still in the right here, Arnautovic has been disappointing but Thuram smashes all expectations. You win some you lose some but still a win overall.

Even with the power of hindsight, we didn't have a better option at the time. Scamacca or Morata would be better (I doubt Morata's form will last long), but Arnautovic + Pavard >>>> Scamacca/Morata + whoever RCB we could afford.

Thuram and Pavard are good deals doesn't make Arnautovic less horrible. His contribution is literally zero for significant resource. Paying for crap is much worse than don't have to pay.

Now instead of 10m+ some money on top in winter, we have to spend the whole sum for a new striker regardless.

It's like saying Belfodil not that bad because we signed Icardi at the same time. Two separate deals. One good and one terrible. And we are here in the Arnautovic thread.

What are you angry at him for? Not like he’s out of season and no report indicates long term injury yet.
He accepts to be bench player and is eager to prove on pitch. If Lautaro passed him the ball last match, he could have a goal already. Seems to be good in locker room.
Looks like multiple national breaks and just come back from injury making people think he does nothing.

The more I think about it the more idiotic it becomes. A 34 year old player coming off a bad injury after an injury-riddled 18 months - and we allow him to go straight to his NT which as you said, doesn't even fucking need him because they already secured qualification. What the fuck. Is there no one at the club who notices this kind of shit? Bunch of dickheads seriously. Arnautovic, Sanchez and Cuadrado are fucking disasters. Combined age of over 100, fuckers.

Club cannot just refuse player from being called up.
