This is how football works - every team has key first team players that they heavily rely on and without whom they are much less likely to win.

The whole “we are one key player awaya from being a title contender” is the stupidest narrative one can bring up in football. Like, no shit, really? As if our competition is not in the same position.

This. Pretty much every team has two players in every role (3 for goalkeeper). We actually have two extra players as I believe our squad has 25 first team players instead of 23. We have 6 defenders, 4 wingbacks, 8 midfielders, and 4 strikers, in addition to the 3 goalkeepers. The two additional players being Sensi and Agoume essentially. Pretty much every team needs to use a youth player as part of the squad when injuries come into play. Last season we had Carboni coming in when we had a striker shortage.

Obviously a lot of us felt that having two older players in Arnautovic/Sanchez would be risky in terms of injuries, but last season we had the same issue with Lukaku who had the biggest injury in his career I believe.

Remember how long it took Lukaku to get back in form last year? And he is younger and fitter. This guy is basically going to need another preseason before he’s useful.

Yesterday's and today's reports say that he will be back about 20 days earlier than expected, for the Atalanta game. Original estimate was Juventus game on November 26th. Reports now say Atalanta game on November 4th. Some say even a week earlier for the Roma match, but most likely the Atalanta match.

Important to have him back asap. Whether people think he was a good signing or not, we need him just to have Lautaro/Thuram fresh.
