Materazzi will always be Materazzi. When he fell after his clash with Cavani, I thought that he'll be more careful and slow down. Yet, he insists on hurting other players (and himself) and goes for a dangerous tackle on Zaccardo (then acts innocent). After few minutes, he goes for another dangerous challenge in the air with a player from Palermo and falls in pain on the ground again. Moratti and his wife were laughing at him after the last clash. :D

You can't blame him for being passive. that's for sure. However, that tackle on Zaccardo was clean. I can't believe he was booked for that.

He got the ball first. He was elbowed and any other player would have not gotten up from that. Another proof that the rules are different for Matrix.

Better performance than in most of his games this season. Hopefully he keeps this up for the rest of the season.

If he keeps this up, then we may not sign a defender in the next market.
Samuel, Cordoba, Matrix, Burdisso, Chivu...except for Burdisso and Matrix all have impressed this season. And those two have improved recently.
Not to forget Rivas :star:

We need to add pace to the team. Not "tempo" but pace. Our defence, our midfield needs a couple of guys who can run when we counter.

What could he had done on the own goal? Wear an invisibility coat? or be a JMPR?

Have you seen the goal, bro?

The goal was simple fluke.

If there was someone to blame it was Julio, who wanted to catch the ball as it seems, but it bounced off from him. Matrix's only "fault", was that he found himself in the wrong place, in the wrong time.

thats exactly what seems to be his main characteristic, yes, he was unlucky with that, and he was also clumsy there, if anyone looks at lets say his tackles, one leg is going at ball, other one is flying around and killing birds, just one example, i loved matrix or last season, but this season matrix is much alike the old pre WC matrix the average and clumsy defender

No question, you have a point here. I totaly agree with that, and I don't think you'll find many who wouldn't.

As someone said in a funny way, "Maybe Zidane should headbutt him again, as it seems there is no magic in him anymore".

But no way he was at any fault with the goal we conceded against Palermo, and that what Suneet and I were reffering to.

Matrix: Thanks,Trez!
Saturday 22 March, 2008
Marco Materazzi stirred up tension ahead of tonight’s battle with Juventus. “David Trezeguet made me win a World Cup, I adore him!”

The Inter defender was asked for his opinion after Trezeguet said he hoped Roma would win the Scudetto.

“Considering what David gave me on July 9, 2006 in Berlin, I accept anything,” grinned the Italy international.

Trezeguet missed the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out between France and the Azzurri in the World Cup Final.

“If I am world champion then I owe it to his missed penalty, so how could I possibly be upset over a comment? Besides, I really respect him and consider it scandalous Raymond Domenech has frozen him out of the France squad.”

Materazzi is one of the symbols of Inter and so this clash with Juve in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal has special meaning.

“I have always considered them a strong side that inevitably motivates opponents to do well. The year I left Perugia there was talk of Juve’s interest, but I had already chosen Inter. I knew sooner or later they’d get back to winning ways and at the time that really was a gamble.”

Matrix is gearing up for Euro 2008, but he sees the future of the Nazionale in the hands of a Bianconeri player, Giorgio Chiellini.

“Like me, he is someone who came from the streets and to get where he is today worked himself ragged. The trouble is that people like Chiellini need to work twice as hard to get sporting and economic recognition.”

Materazzi has often achieved recognition for the wrong reasons and his dismissal against Liverpool proved costly in the Champions League.

Having said that, Inter have a poor disciplinary record this season with 10 red cards in all competition.

“I do not exclude that Inter may well be too physical, similar to Fabio Capello’s Juventus, but the fact remains that especially in the Champions League we have been extremely unlucky.

“If I was silly at Anfield – as being booked I should have been more careful – I don’t understand why Philippe Mexes’ dismissal against us was considered ‘rushed’ by the media and Roma.

“Either the Frenchman was also silly or my red card was also rushed. Make your minds up.”

I have a feeling he will **** up again tonight.

Him and Burdisso in the defense is an accident waiting to happen.

Blaah, lots of clumsy tackles coming tonight from him (and burdisso). Hopefully Del Piero won't score from the 10 freekicks Juve will get.
