Faraoni: "A goal I have really worked for"


"This was a goal that represents all of the effort I've put into my game since I was a child and my thoughts turn to my father in particular. He took me to training when I was young; but all of my family have always supported me." Davide Faraoni dedicated his first Serie A goal for Inter to the people who have always stood by him in his footballing career and went on to say on Sky Sport Italia that "the most important thing today was winning. We played very well and I'm particularly pleased that Milito has started scoring again. This mixture of youth and experienced stars in the team is fantastic. Alvarez? It was just a question of time..."

Faraoni was asked what he thought Inter's chances of winning the league were, and he replied confidently: "We are taking matches as they come: now we are just focussing on the derby."

Faraoni is a great talent, so glad we picked him up from lazio, i had heard great things about him even that he could play CB i thought he would play alongside Ranocchia, but who knows maybe he will be only at RB soon. Plus he has the added bonus of being Italian, i know it may not seem important to others but considering were an italian team i think we should have a strong italian core, Bergomi was the biggest difference maker for Italia winning the 82 world cup coming on as a teenager playing against brazil or starting against Germany in the final. Then there was Materazzi taking over as CB with Nestas injury while also scoring goals for Italy to advance and win the 2006 world cup, Let us also not forget Giuseppe Meazza who captained the Italia squad to win two consecutive World Cups. Not to mention Italias only Euro cup victory in 1968 had much thanks to Sandro Mazzolla and Angelo Domenghini

Congrats for the goal. He has been doing fine ever since he has been getting playing minutes, though he has a promising future. On another note, the goal last night was just pure brilliance, as I said in the match thread, it was great coordination between timing and power. Kudos!

:star: I said this kid took too many useless long shots before lol, glad to see he proved me wrong, beautiful goal especially considering he is more of a defensive minded player. Easily one of the goals of the season so far, hope he keeps improving, Faraoni is fast making the other Davide become a distant memory.

Haven't been keeping up to date with football recently due to university work but I'm really pleased with what I've seen so far. All our youngsters showing some great promise, and what a bloody good goal!
