Its likely a loan with a set price. So if he performs he convinces sociedad to shell out the cash.

And if he doesn't perform, we'll get even less cash next summer. Hopefully he does well, though I'm not expecting much.

I'd rather sell or loan Muntari first before Mariga tbh..

Mariga has made a choice to leave, Muntari has made a choice to stay (much to the frustration of everyone). That's the difference.

I wish Mariga all the best. Have nothing against him and wouldn't mind him staying, but Inter sees him as dead weight.

It was rumored Sociedad was ready to pay 4m€. That wasn't enough for Inter management, so they rather give him on loan so that he can raise his value
yeah like that's ever worked before (Jiminez, Suazo, Mancini, Muntari) :palm: We bought him for like 5-6m (minus Bibany) so lets take the 1m loss and move the fuck on. We say no one wants to buy our dead weight but then wen offers come we're tight as fuck. How is Mariga worth anything over 4m anyway?

We paid around 10m€ for Mariga (in two installments, first in the January, second in the summer). It would be over 5m€ loss so obviously our management don't want to sell him for so low. And now it isn't even that crucial since we will make tons of money on Eto'o sale. Mariga is a young guy so he will have value next summer, unless he gets a season ending injury or something. I'm sure he will find a playing time at Sociedad.

This guy wants to achieve something in his career and is not really down switching from Inter to less quality side to prove his worth, unlike some other players we have. Wish you all the best McD!

I haven't seen this posted over here so probably some of you don't know this .
In order to sign a non-eu player you must first free a non-eu spot in your team . This year the federation increased the number in 2 possible spots but this rule didn't change .

So basically if we want to sign casemiro and banega we must first free 2 spots like for example giving away mariga and rivas . So even if we don't get anything by loaning mariga we still manage to free a non-eu spot and this is very important anyway.

I don't think is correct. We signed coutinho without getting rid of any non eu. Besides we did get rid of obinna who was non eu.

Ya the rule is that you can only register 2 non-EU players per season, but there is no rule about how many you have on your roster.

I think you get "extra" non-EU spots for selling a non-EU to a club outside Italy. Not sure though.

Well vito , stefan couldn't you just believe in me but you made me search for over 30min for the proof :p
Anyway here's the official declaration of the figc link . I didn't have the nerves to translate it though... but basically it says :

Any team registered in the serie a for the 2011-2012 season have the right to sign 2 non-eu players.
-one of them must replace a non-eu player who was part of the team until 30 jun 2011 through :
*selling this player
*player's contract runs out
*player becomes eu

-the other must also replace a non-eu player part of the team until 30 jun 2011 through:
*selling this player
*player becomes eu

So you must sell 2 non-eu/sell 1 + 1 runs out of contract/etc in order to sign 2 non-eu players

I was basing my knowledge on the old rules...I had no idea they changed them. But if this is the case, how did Milan sign Taiwo without getting rid of a Non-EU player??

Then that is new rules and not old rules as you stated. Was not aware of this change.

But either way obina left and cafe acquired italian citenzenship, so we should have 2. Don't think we get more if rivas, muntari and mariga goes.

Actually it's not a new rule because when i was searching for that link i founded out that the same rule existed when we could sign only 1 non-eu and probably existed even before that but anyway...

As for the taiwo deal ; well that's why managing a football club is so damn hard although looks easy from our homes when we say sell this and buy that. The amount of deals they made is so huge and the media probably can't publicate all of them and solve the real reasons that stand behind.
For example roma some days ago loaned an african midfielder who's name i don't recall to free a non-eu space but i heard it only once and than it wasn't shown anywhere because he was no one important. The same for milan they have sended away on loan or on free many players this year like for example onyewu or digao who's contract was terminated so maybe one of them was non-eu.
