i think branca still have faith on him
and wait until 1-2 years give him some minutes at another club,,
if its true sociedad would be a good place for him to develop

We paid around 10m€ for Mariga (in two installments, first in the January, second in the summer). It would be over 5m€ loss so obviously our management don't want to sell him for so low.
I thought Bibiany was part of that deal? And then Jiminez going the other way? No way we paid 10m for this guy.... based on what? he did nothing when he was here on loan. Would be dumb as hell if we did.

whatever the case, we should've just taken the money and fucking ran. Who does Branca think this guy is, Yaya Toure? Look at barca, they badly need money so they sold Romeu who had an excellent U20 WC and U19 EC for 5 fucking million!!! Not the smartest move in the world by Barca but at least they realize what needs to be done for the betterment of the club. We should've done something similar, with a buy back clause that increases the longer he stays at the club. I hope this is just hearsay because not even our management would be this stupid.

Mariga close to Sociedad. The formula of the transfer is strange, a loan with an option for a second-year on loan.

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fcinter1908.it%2F%3Faction%3Dread%26idnotizia%3D30678

Now I don't understand at all what is the advantage for Inter in this type of deal. Is that an option to which club? Sociedad? How Inter benefits with the option for second year loan?

I guess they figure it's less of an investment and therefore a greater incentive for Sociedad. If they take him on a second year loan, then that's another year we don't have to pay his wages (or at least some percentage of his wages) and it doesn't scare Sociedad into a 'take him or leave him' situation where they may be put off by our demands.

It's not like he has huge wages tho, he gets like 700k per year. This 2 year loan doesn't benefit u at all.

:palm:

We can't even sell our somewhat young, cheap players.

How does it benefit Inter?

We need players like him and we also needed 7m from his transfer, this loan bullshit doesnt make sense.

obviously the management think that his price will increase if he gets regular playing time, no need to go ":palm:" mode yet

700k by 2 years plus 7 milliion sale value is what, 8.4 mill.

Hey what the fuck is going on here...we are selling eto'o our best player in the team cause we are in need to make up for our losses and have salary cap room for our youngsters to come in. So how come we can afford to offer Big Mac on loan, with an optional 2nd year? Its not because Branca thinks he will turn out to be a superstar, the kid has pretty much developed as a player at this age....so whats going on here? i know 8.4 mill aint much, but still, arent we supposed to be thinking ahead for the future.

I SMELL A RAT!

I'll be interested how he performs at Sociedad. I'm not sure we are trying to offload him, maybe just get him some minutes and see how he develops. At age 24 and ~70 top-flight appearances he likely has some room for improvement.

We'll see, but IMO Mariga doesn't really fall into the 'dead weight' category. He may be able to contribute at Inter in the coming seasons.

Surely Mariga is not deadweight category. It's just that he wants to play more than what he could play at Inter at the moment.

It would have been nice to make some money with his departure but Eto'o deal takes the biggest burden of making money by sales in this transfer window.

Ten Million at that time for Mariga is understandable, he is a talented youngster, and was even younger back then. We were paying for one of Africas golden generation of skillfull players that seem to be popping up across the continent. I'm sure if Mariga had gone to a team such as Udinese last season where players such as Zapata, Asamoah, Badu and the like have excelled he'd be a monster player.

Its just at Inter, its hard for him to start considering the players infront of him. Only a fool can't see how talented he is.

And he got unlucky year ago when we have injuries in midfield so of course he got injured too. Would have had a chance to prove his worth most probably.
