I hate Juve too but really? Coppa? Let the youth players get walloped, let them at least learn. Wenger has been doing this for years, fielding youth players in cup games, why can't we.

If we're going to sign anyone on the basis of experience why not go after CMFs like Poli or Dzemaili?

I have no idea why you are obsessed with Poli. I have seen him play tons of time and he never really impressed me. Just looks like a youngster who has potential to me...The kid has played in almost 20 matches and has only manages 1 assist??

Wow this is crazy I went to bed 1am in the morning here and the last story I read by pure coincidence was Man City's deal for Mariga falling through... Then I wake up this morning and discover we have signed him! I wonder how Mancio feels about all this, still getting shafted by Mourinho it seems lol.

Anyway can't say I know much about the kid, but seems a good prospect, honestly Ledesma was my 1st choice because of his range of passing, he would of brought something different to our current midfield setup, but it's pretty clear this buy is one for the future so I'm satisified. But for some strange reason I now have a craving for a Big Mac!! :)

Oh, harsh. But what about Melo, Santana, Pasqual, Gamberini... even Gilardino to an extent, his game and consistency have improved immeasurably during his time at Fiore. Also Vargas in his new SMF position.

are you saying that those players are youngsters?

because if you are you should know that sneijder is younger than all of them who are 26-28

Consider his position, sampdoria's formation, Sampdoria's starting forwards... then consider his age, his prefered position... now consider how many assists Sneijder has this season, and last, and how many he had when he was Poli's age. Basically your point is, well, pointless. It doesn't amount to anything.

You don't measure a players ability by how many assists (RQ7) they provide or how many goals they score (Suazo) and certainly not youtube videos (Mancini), you watch them, read about them, learn as much as you can, and Poli is well rated in Italy, according to Corvino, Marino, Marotta and Gerolin, "the hottest midfield italian prospect since de rossi". I doubted at first but when you watch him play, his technical, calm and assured on the ball, can use both feet, has good positional sense and awareness, can play anywhere in midfield, he has good vision, can needle passes, deploy crosses across the field... keep in mind he's only 20. This is why I am obsessed with Poli, although obsessed is not the word I would prefer to use.

I think I never see him playing, so I can't say it's a good or bad deal, but we really need a tall and powerful guy in midfield
hopefully it would be a good reinforcement for us.
I just wonder why we can't buy gallop? he's a italian and he attracts far more attention comparing to mariga

Woke up this morning and the first thing I read on Football Italia was that we signed Mariga. I've heard lots of good things about him, but haven't actually watched him play. I just hope to see him play soon, maybe in the Coppa against Fiorentina?

I just checked mariga's playing record in this season.
It seems like he got injuried two times in this season because there's no playing record for him from Oct 4 to Nov 21 and from Nov 21 to Jan 23.
anyway If he can play against catania on Jan 23, I believe now he is fit to play.
I just fear if he's too vulnerable

ure african or why u care, i was kidding, i dont care if the player is black or whatever.
yeh u must be richard phili.
lolz.....I am neither...too bad.
I was just trying to look at some posts when we signed Muntari, as to what our expectations were at that time, and I came across this post of yours, which surprised me, especially since you brushed off Mariga without even giving him a fair trial.
I dont expect you to answer, just was surprised!

so is mariga good from someone whose knows him well?

from many accounts, hes probably kenya's best player

only kenya's status as the 102nd best national team has prevented him from joining the EPL sooner

other accounts, he plays like young vieira or essien

hope thats useful

I just have a feeling that he also doesnt have a great agent, which has meant that he has slipped under the radar of a lot of teams, since he has not been aggressively promoted! Throughout this whole ManCity mess, there was nothing mentioned about his agent saying this or that. Case in point being Ledesma!
I think that we are lucky to have gotten him, and if stays fit will be a great asset to our team!

I think let us wait for us to see him atleast once before we start comparing him with either extremes Vieira or Muntari!
Knowing Jose, if fit, he should be blooded pretty soon!

Hopefully the new Muntari. That's exactly what our team needs. More Muntari's.
