Manchester City may have been more attractive because they were able to offer him more money but the simple fact of the matter is that if he wants to develop professionally, Inter is the better option. He will get greater exposure and experience by playing in the Champions League and he will be led by a world class coach in Mourinho. If he was only interested in money then City was the right destination. If he wants to be a better and more complete footballer than Inter will help him.

By the way, from his photograph on inter.it, it looks as though he is built like a tank for a 22 year old.

This is what jose had to say on mariga.

Mourinho then welcomed MacDonald Mariga to Inter: "I'm satisfied with his arrival. He's an extra option in midfield. We have Krhin back in midfield too and we have regained this balance that we lost with the departure of Patrick and the injuries. Mariga trained with us for the first time today, we know he is back from an injury but he seems fit to play. He's not a finished product and I like him for this because he's young, he has to grow. He's for today, but also for the future. He has to work a lot to get to the top but I like him. He will help us restore balance. Simplicio and Ledesma? I hope they're happy."

Welcome Mariga.. Strange trasnfer ig you ask me, he was linked to us like 2 hours... Well, nothing is strange when it comes to Inter :)
I have never watched him, so i don't know what kind of player he is...

Welcome again, i hope you do great for us.. he must be better than muntari and Motta for sure :)
oh definately yes he is better than motta at least i know that.......really impressed with he's height and the way every tabliod is talking about his transfer and his passing and technical abilities........i read he has the ability to read games like cambiasso and work rate of muntari, defensive capabilities of viera, and possibly a better passer/attacking than motta....i trully cant wait for tomorrows game...i'm sure mou will start him......

however one thing worries me......we dont have a direct replacement for sneidjer, i wonder who mou will use this time around.

I would interpret like this:

"not a finished product, he has to grow, he has to work a lot to get to the top" means Mariga doesn't have starter quality right now.

"He's for today" means Mariga can be a good backup player now.
"also for the future" means if Mariga grows and develops, he can be a starter in the future.

Flawless interpretation.

Pandev, and as a last resort probably Dejan.

Next year we will have Coutinho, who is not ready for a first team football, but he should be under guidance of Wes, and he will probably get some games along the way.

Never knew that o_O. Always thought he is their youth product. Thanks Yuko.

That just proves my point even better.

Not exactly the thread for it, but Fiorentina's Allievi Nazionali team beat Inter in the final last season to take the team's first youth title since Corvino's arrival. Several players from that team have a lot of international experience, and all the goals scored by Italy in the U17 World Cup were either scored or set up by Fiorentina players. Additionally, both Babacar (who is still just 16 and, while not Italian, has grown up at the club as far as I know) and Carraro (incredibly highly rated, and just 17) have made their first-team debuts this season. Fiorentina's Santons and Balotellis are coming, they're just a bit younger than those two.

Okay, so which one it is:

McDonald

or

MacDonald

Inter.it uses the "Mac" version but on Internet, Mariga McDonald is more used.

Jose didn't say about the "future" only in relation to Big Mac, but also in relation to Rene:

"For this I like it: to have him and Krhin twenty, twenty, twenty-two, like, because they are for today but also to prepare for the future."

Seems Jose really believes in Krhin pottential and wants him to be a player at Inter in the future. This is a great sign.

Rene should just focus on football, keep his head right, and he will be slowly but constantly given more and more playing time. Lets hope he will develope right.

Thank you for the nice info and insight.

However I will wait and see how will they do, cause I'm sure it will be similar to our situation, although still easier (Fiorentinas first team players aren't exactly the same level as the ones at Inter so it should be easier there for younger players to break through).

Wow he kinda looks like Vieira...

Yeah I was just about to write the same - especially in that bottom photo! It's like Vieira never left!:D

And I think Mariga's name is spelled MacDonald, with an 'A'
