Yes, thanks, I realize two of the coloured guys arent the same

but as far as I can see, Guarin is a SIGNIFICANTLY better version of Mariga.

The way I see it they aren't very similar type of players.

Guarin can do literally everything Mariga can, but better. The only thing Mariga does better is the aimless runs up midfield to get to the edge of the box.

Mariga =/=Guarin

And I don't think there is a market for this guy atm. He is also on a very cheap contract.

He can be used in EL/Coppa games if we are looking to rest startes so he can serve a purpose.

agree but there is no reason of comparison between him and Guaro, better comparison would be with Mundigayi as he serves mainly the CDM spot.

Mariga is a better and more disciplined defender while being nowhere near Guarin in terms of offensive talents.

I disagree. I can see why you think that, to be honest, but I think if you look at his time at Inter, he's not shown any signs of being a better defender than Guarin. When Guarin wants to, he can really seize the game by the neck in defensive midfield, I've never seen that from Mariga.

Also, we have too many players in tha tposition now. Between Cambiasso, Mudingayi, Guarin, Duncan, I do not see any space for Mariga at Inter. Short term or long term.

Guarin is not a DM and will not be played as one, Duncan will not see the pitch so you basically have Mudingayi and Mariga to rest Cambiasso and Gargano.

And we are talking about a guy who has proven to be an effective Serie A player in the past. (It was with Parma though.)

All I'm saying is give him a chance. He is still young and his physical attributes could be a solid asset for us in some games.

Mariga story is short and simple. The guy has been unfortunate as fuck . He has always injured himself during his best moments with inter like for example the first matches under Rafa. Even when he found his form back with Parma he got injured and returned to inter not fit.

We can debate as much as we wont about him but none of our opinions would really count because i truly believe he has never had the possibility to test his potential at inter. I personally believe that he could have been worthy of wearing our shirt , but since i care about our team more then any singular player i wouldn't give him any more chances before the likes of Duncan , Romano and co.

We all have missed some chances in life which we thought we deserved to have and mariga has lost his. Even if the reason is just bad luck i still don't feel the need to give him other opportunities. Anyway i would still keep him instead of Dejan any time if that is the choice we have to made in jaunary.

I'd like to see what he can do under Strama before I cast final judgement. If Strama sees something in him, then I don't see anything wrong with giving a 25yo CM/DM a chance to succeed. He's not 29-30 for christsake. We can still get 7 good years out this guy, he's already ours. Even if using him means we just don't renew Mudingayi, and he plays as a back up. He's also not breaking the bank wages wise. Yes his technique is not top class, but the guys actually a decent finisher.

way too soon. he'll probably play 60 minutes today, and then after that he probably needs at least 2-3 weeks of high intensity training to regain his fitness

So, apparently Mariga said no to a move to Russia.

Is it logical? As in the current racial problems happening between the stands here and there in their league may have influenced his decision.

Or maybe Russia when compared to Italia and other European leagues is not as attractive?
