I am all for Inter getting Modric. He would seriously improve our team, and I don't care about his age. But €92m wages over 4 years, and a transfer fee of €40m? Thats a bit too much for him, he is 33 after all.

If we are planning to spend 130-150m on a player, why not go after SMS or Pogba or Eriksen? They may not be as good as Modric, but they are damn good and will be for many years.

?????
All of these players transfer fee would already be around that 150 mark. On top of that pogba and erikson would probably come at a wage very close to Lukas and only SMS would probably accept half of what Luka is rumored to be getting. But even with SMS give him one max two good seasons and he s also gonna demand a salary in that region so whats the point?
Only real upside these other guys have over modric is that in 4/5 years they ll still be worth a lot of money.

Also were you not saying that Ronaldo at 30 mio a year hence 60 with taxes was not that expensive. I know in terms of marketing and revenue CR wil bring more than probably any other player on this planet but if ronaldo at 60 a year with a 100 mio transfer fee is a good deal than that rumored modric deal even with the high wages is an amazing fucken deal.

Also i dont see modric declining fast he does not rely that much on speed or physicality so i have no worries that he ll decline fast. Think of pirlo at jube.

According to As Real is surprised by this behavior of Modric also saw that they would be ready to bring him the engagement to the level of Ramos and under the only Bale.

People comparing this move with Pirlo's to Juventus forgot that the Italien went there for free and didn't even earn half of the salary Modric will get.

You are missing the point, what people meant was the comparison for their age, not the deal itself; modric still has at least 2-3 years left in him, just like pirlo did.

AS--"What initially was a simple market voice, acquired a tone that Real Madrid do not like , they are baffled.
Also because the agent wants to do it on a 0 euro deal to Inter.

Perhaps by 0 they mean a loan. I can't seriously believe Inter are expecting to get Modric for free.

Some people are diverging from the main point here. We are not comparing our Modric deal vs Juve's Pirlo deal in terms of "which one is better" (obviously no one can do better than acquiring the best midfielder for free). But in terms of impact of the deal, and whether that deal worth the investment.

For example, your friend bought an apartment in London central, which worth 8m, for 2m. Currently you are being offered a similar one for 4m (assuming you have the money of course). Will you buy it? Or reject because it costs much more than 2m?

Somehow I feel this deal will going through, since Vanja Modric wife seems like Wanda in steroid. Guess she is the one who had final word if he is gonna move or not. Madrid says they gonna try raise his salary to be on Ramos level but below Bale as the highest wages now.

No, you are missing the point. Pirlo turned out to be a great deal for Jubentus but it was not a gamble like this Modric deal because they got him for free.

Modric, even at this age doesn't need babysitters.

Yes, but why? Because he relies on his physique. And personally I don't want to make such a huge deal for a player who does that and will be nearly 33 when the season starts.

How many "class players" who still have "some years left" does this club need? I've seen too many in the last years. Every season we get a new one and surprise, surprise - it doesn't turn out like we think.

That pay raise thing seems like most obvious one.

Modric doesn't rely on physicality. He simply has it. Even if loses it man can pass and keep the ball like few players can.

Kovacic may actually benefit from Modric leaving. But he's set on leaving himself and may end up at Milan.

No one here is arguing with you about that, if we had the choice, I would also take Pirlo's deal. I am merely saying that you missed the point because people were just talking about their age, not the value of the deal.

Kova want to leave unless Real will give him more playing time. If Modric leaves, i believe they put their trust on him. If not, i wouldn't mind to take Kova back.
