Dude, if you have been reading my posts, I am all for players with proven quality over youth with potential. I have been pushing the case of players like Nainggolan, Dembele, Vidal, Modric, etc.

Problem with Verratti is that while he was a 21 yo with potential, now at 25 we can say that potential was never achieved. This is his level now, he is an average player IMO. I don't want average. Modric or Vidal over Verratti any day of the week for me. But if we can't get Vidal/Modric, instead of throwing away good money on average players, might as well get a young player "with potential", at least that way there is hope that in 2 years he might become good enough.
