I think it depend on if Madrid signing ne young top midfielder or not. If that happen guess Modric have given promised he can leave if they not need him anymore. He wont stay as someone backup for sure.

The midfielder, named Player of the Tournament at the World Cup this summer, is a key member of Real Madrid’s side. But with Julen Lopetegui now in charge at the Bernabeu, Croatia star Modric appears keen to jump ship.

And fresh revelations in Italy have detailed how a proposed move to Inter Milan has come about. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, it was Modric’s wife who called Inter asking if they would be keen on a deal.

The player is currently on holiday in Sardinia [Italy!!!] but will return to Madrid this weekend for pre-season.

And Di Marzio claims that at that point, he will discuss his future with Real President Florentino Perez.

Should he tell the Bernabeu chief of his intention to leave, more formal negotiations will begin between the clubs.

Corriere dello Sport speculates that if Modric does join, the most likely deal would be for an initial loan - with Inter having the option to sign him permanently next summer.

My only concern would be his wage, as he is currently earning €10m net left on the two years of his current Real Madrid deal. I bet Ausilio will negociate a lower deal [especially if Luka asked to join] and it will be spread over 3 years. Also, we keep signing new sponsorship deals and these will keep rolling with the UCL coming up, so this is not a dream any more. INSANE!!!!!!!!!11!!!1

yep last news says that he wants inter.. seems like this is getting real now

i want vidal but we are talking about Modric, not Matuidi, Felipe Melo or Stuaro. The best midfielder in the world, fucking Modric. If that happen we will be challenge Juventus next year. We dont have to fear Cristina Ronaldo, we have our own Champion.

In this 3-4 days there will be important news. According to Di Marzio: If we get Vidal (which dont seems a done deal according to him/sky) it means we will get both and sell someone. If Inter refuses to get Vidal, it means we only get Modric.

Hot last weeks of Mercato are waiting for us...

Been watching football for ~20 years, still waiting for Modric to have a bad game. One of the most consistent midfielders these years, effortlessly glides throughout the pitch like no one else is playing.. at his age he is still explosive! Like being from another world... I honestly cannot think of a better midfielder at this moment.

This rumour is actually giving me goosebumps and it never happened to me before just by reading a rumour, in my entire life.

I know Modric is going to be much better for us than Vidal. But I was so looking forward to seeing the Inca Warrior play with the Ninja. A bird in hand is better than one in the bush. Sign Vidal already, then target Modric.

Dont see this happening, he seems to be on too high a wage and the price seems to be too large for us.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, it was Modric’s wife who called Inter asking if they would be keen on a deal.

“Do you want Modric?” was the supposed direct question from Vanja Bosnic.

Inter, who are closing in on a deal to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich, immediately confirmed they would be interested.

The phone call has since set in motion plans from the player’s camp to work out a deal to Inter.

Modric wage demands
Gazzetta claim Modric would want a contract that at least matches the £8.9m (€10m) net wages left on the two years of his current Real Madrid deal.

The equates roughly to a contract of £150,000 a week in Milan.

However, Inter are not flush with cash and for financial fair play reasons would likely make a loan offer for Modric, with the agreement to make the deal permanent next summer.

I'm generally against players with no resale value specially with our financial constraints but Modric is one player I'd love for us to have!

The only reason I think this is possible is because of the Spanish taxation that Ronaldo ran away from. Iirc Italy has a flat fee rather than a % so it’s much more attractive for foreign stars who want to keep their money. But don’t quote me on that bc I’m only vaguely familiar with whats going on.

El representante de #Modric está en su perfecto derecho de pedir que le dejen salir sin pagar nada,ya que recuerdan el regalo que le hicieron a #Cristiano por 100 millones.

Here is an update from Alfredo Pedulla on Luka Modric:

“Here is our truth about Modric, there is no negotiation, it was simply a proposal by the same agent of Vrsaljko without going through Real Madrid. Inter know there there is a 500-million release clause and if Florentino Perez wants to sell, he would ask for no less than €100M. Also, his contract is in double digit and has two more seasons to be honored. Inter are not aware of a clause that would allow Modric to free himself now. If that were the case, they would jump on this chance. From how things stand right now, it cannot go any further.”

Source: SI

So modric seems given same promised like Ronaldo which allowing him to lowered his release clause from 1 billion to 100mil. If thats the case its really depend on Modric will if he is gonna force to move or not.

It's Modric's rep's who contacted Inter...
So... You think this can't get done?!
Sure let Real keep an unsatisfied player
That should work fine for them

Even 100 is out of our range and unrealistic for 33 years old midfielder. He is still one of the best, but he's not Ronaldo when it comes to brand.
