Then Dzeko went to city and was benched by Balotelli and then Aguero.

Dzeko at Wolfsburg was immense. Moving to City wasn't a wise idea. He'd be better off coming to Italy straight from there, possibly for Milan who were looking for a top striker since Shevchenko had left.

It's not about goals scored. It's about overall play and being more efficient on the ball. Dzeko was very wasteful when he was younger. Now he is just much better on the ball; body positioning for holding up, decision making, efficieny and quality of his passes and shots etc. Its just significantly better than when he was younger.

Lautaro has highlight reel for goals scored already too yet we know he is pretty inefficient on the ball. Too many giveaways and not good decisions on the ball. For example, he has a great, great turn, yet too many times it doesn't work because he did it too early and did not read the defenders move properly. Stuff like that will get better over time (given good development)

But Dzeko was one of the players of the season. Not sure you can argue he's a better player now than then, he's certainly more rounded but he's well past his best physically. Dzeko's prime years were wasted in Man City unfortunately. Awesome player. Interestingly was linked with Milan before ending to Wolfsburg.

Personally, I think Martinez is done for this season. His head has not been right since the Barcelona rumours started and I do not see him turning things around in the last games of the season. The pull of Barcelona has totally thrown him from his game and we cannot continue to have him as a starter when he mostly thinks of himself and puts himself before the team.

The problem with Martinez at the moment is that he feels he is the shop window and the only way he is going to secure a move to Barcelona is if he plays for himself and scores goals. It goes without saying that we can not continue like this both in relation to him being an automatic starter and the daily rumours and speculation. It is unhealthy and if he wants to go then we should grant him his wish but only at the right price. The rumoured 65 million that they are allegedly offering + Firpo (whoever he is) is underwhelming.

That's not fair, he was benched by Mancini, Luckiest and most retarded coach ever.

I remember masterful performance against Tottenham, I think he scored 4 goals and next game, of course, he was benched.

Special One

"My player of the year would always be from the champions," Mourinho said. "Manchester City need a point. I would say a City player and I would choose Dzeko. He was the third striker at the beginning of the season and when the team needed him, in crucial moments, he made the difference. He has 16 goals. Sixteen for the third striker is something spectacular. He's not just a goalscorer. He assists, he plays."

And in an apparent veiled reference to Suárez, Mourinho added: "He behaves, he's fair, he doesn't dive, doesn't try to put opponents on the stands with accumulation of cards."

I think we are being too harsh on the kid. He is 22, on his first "breakthrough" season. He still has areas of improvement, and while his good run of form earlier hid this fact, its not surprising he goes through a bad patch now. With kids, you gotta have patience during when their performances dip, and wait for them to develop. Martinez could come out stronger if he learns from this. IMO Conte is doing the right thing by giving Martinez a lot of minutes (though that could be mainly coz we don't have other options to rotate).

Yeah, good to compare 30 year old veteran to 22 year old.

Lautaro was fine yesterday in the first half, again. Was active, created stuff but no reward. He's just not getting to chances, apart from that one shooting opportunity which he mishit completely.

This is honestly no news at all. He needs to come up with the money to get Marotta's attention next time.

More like he needs to shut the fuck up. They've mentioned him every couple of weeks since Christmas or earlier. Honestly, get fucked barca

Apparently we’re offering him a significant pay raise. Rumors are €5m.

At his current level even 5m is much more than he deserves. We need to be careful not to commit to give him a lot becuase selling him later would almost be impossible.

actually our media game is really weak,
all the top club usually have a mouthpiece or two,
im not saying we should replicate barca dirty tactic of unsettling player,

but its no doubt useful in negotiation when buying or selling
heck suning should buy transfermarkt

At this point his game is shit. I can imagine any serie a forward that would do the same work as him. If we would replace him with Pinamonti I would not see any drop of quality in the attack. He has to get shit together, because the only think he exceeds other forwards is his salary expectation.

I think Barca is pulling back because there are major flaws in his game that cannot be ignored.
