Yeah, this forum is quite quickly turning around its opinion on young players if they don't perform. Only because he's been linked to Barcelona. After all, he has 18 goals in this season.

About the comments, maybe he's been told the transfer is definitely off now, Barcelona cannot afford the deal so he's going ALL IN for Inter now? Before he hasn't said much, only "Forza Inter" etc

Well, it's not ONLY for being linked to Barcelona, it's MOSTLY for it. At least as far as I'm concerned.

The thing is, you have patience for a youngster when you can reasonably expect his future to be in your team.

Fans are fickle in general but many of you turned on the player quite easily

you guys are so :palm:

but it's the usual, everything on the player.

Why didn't Marotta come right out from the beginning and say LM10 is not for sale at any price? Because we would have sold him if Barca had the money. Zero loyalty to the player.

So why should the player have said in the beginning of the rumors that he only wants Inter? Why would he do that?

Lautaro played this one out exactly as a professional should. Very few comments, everything relatively neutral. Once the saga is pretty much finished, just minor comment on commitment to our team. Wtf is wrong with that?

Based on what?

Based on the negotiations that went on for months and based on what his father said: he wouldn't have said certain things if he didn't know it is what his son wishes.

The same father that was saying that Lautaro had to start while Lautaro said his dad needed to chill?

I didn't say that he wasn't a professional, although his recent performances cast a doubt on at least his capacity of remaining focused.

But why should I show patience for a youngster who is already looking elsewhere for his future, and has been mostly playing shit lately?

Was he looking elsewhere or did Inter indicate they're willing to sell him?

Why should a youngster devote to a club who has no problem selling him, regardless of his desire to stay?

I didn't say that he has to devote to a club. That's about personal choices.

But with choices come consequences, in this case that he has no right to the same treatment of players who plan on staying at Inter for a long time. At least, again, as far as I am concerned.

If a player knows he's for sale and that his club is openly negotiating with another club to get rid of him, what do you expect the player to do that lautaro didnt do?

It'd be interesting to see Skriniar's reaction after he sacked his agent to stick with us when we're shopping him around... FIF will probably roast Skriniar as some culprit that wants out.

we weren't negotiating to get rid of him: we were negotiating because we basically had no choice.

nowadays the bargaining power is mostly on the players' side: when they want to leave, they usually find a way. and understandably, clubs don't enjoy the idea of having a player with his mind elsewhere.

at the end of the day, if he stays (which at this point is likely) another season, it's because he only wants barca and they have no money at the moment.

Hard not to be, especially for an Argentine attacker

Yeah, you were a hundred percent correct when you said Lautaro would definitely join Barcelo--

oh, sorry.
