Holy smokes! the visceral dislike for Lautaro, because he wants to be paid. We all know he is streaky and hopeless on penalty kicks, but c'mon he was there for Inter during the majority of the season. Let's say he does leave then who would replace him with no drop off in form? Certainly not, Arnautovic, Correa, or any of the aforementioned purported incoming or rumored strikers. Hopefully both parties come to an agreement soon.

Im sure people don't dislike him. But the fact you're asking 10 mil a year and go missing 3 months a year and the unability to score penalties is quiet alarming. If he's asking ffor that much on down to sell him and getting Bento + CB + a ST. No clue how good roque is, but maybe we can lowball barca if that dude is really a gem

Show me a recent example of us selling a player and actually reinvesting the majority of the proceeds into our squad. It hasn't happened with Hakimi, Lukaku, Onana, and it wouldn't happen with Lautaro.

Hakimi -> dumfries
Lakaka -> Thuram
Onana -> Sommer, we were going to sign Spurs GK if Man Utd wasn't playing with us the whole time

and where do you think that money came from to buy Frattessi and Pavard?

Hakimi was sold for 45M and replaced by a 13M player. Lukaku was sold for 110M and replaced by Correa for 35M.

So, if we sell Lautaro for 100M, what striker are we signing to replace him adequately at a quarter of the cost?

We don't have to. To win the Scudetto we need the best team. Especially depth for a marathon.

Direct clashes like CL is where stars factor plays the role. But Lautaro doesn't perform there so no irreplaceable either.

We would take Guirassy + 2 Pavards-level and claim Scudetto even easier. I trust Marotta with his money.

Nah absolutely no dislike, he’s one of my favourite players in a team of highly likeable footballers.

I think it’s also fair to criticise unreasonable demands based on performance though. If we had no money worries I’d just give him what he wants, but given our situation I think it’s okay to think about critically about where the budget goes.

There is no universe where I want Lautaro to be incentivised to take MORE penalties :lol:
Then who's our #2 taker incase of a shootout or injury to Hakan?

Only sell Lautaro if we are getting a more clutch player in his place. Otherwise give him a new contract and maybe sell him some other summer.

I like the dude. Shame about his drops in form.

If PSG comes knocking and offers more than 100mil for him, I don't think Šeško and Zirkzee would make us score enough. What we would need to find is another Milito.

But if Thuram is the one who is sold, then it's easier to go for Zirkzee.
