Honestly - even if he didn't go missing 2/3 months every year it would still be a push. If he wants to be the captain and stay here, he needs to take club's actual abilities into consideration. Raising one player's salary that much immediately affects the entire roster. Not to mention potential rifts in the locker room.

Kvaratskhelia earns 2m per year after winning the scudetto, next to Osimhen with his 10m. You think Napoli performing like dog shit this season is pure coincidence?

10 mill is way too much, but I don't think it's an issue here. Everybody in the club seems confident about making a deal, which it probably wouldn't be the case if he wanted that much money.

The right question here. People can cry all they want but that's a good indicator of what the market price is and that's probably what Lautaro's camp is basing their request from. I swear I feel like some people here don't negotiate anything in their life.

I don't actually mind those 10+mln but if the deal is structured based on some achievements.
For example, 9mln salary but if ...
...we win the scudetto +0.5mln
...He scores more that xx goals +0.5mln
...we play CL final + 1mln
...we win CL + 1mln

It all of those conditions are met, he will get 12mln at the end, and I doubt that anybody will complain about it

The fact is that only one in Serie A hitting the 11-digit mark and Vlahovic deal is obviously stupid. The marketing value of this league is too low to afford such balance. Roma couldnt pay Lukaku too long and he is returning to the real owner. While with Osimhen I don't think Napoli could afford either and the extension is just the price boost before selling soon. Him and Kvaratskhelia.

Well you brought up Bundesliga which in my opinion isn't relevant at all. We are talking about market price in Serie A so why bring up Bundesliga?

When you negotiate, you start high, just how Inter is starting low as well, pretty sure we'll reach an agreement before the end of the season, just like Marotta said.

Lautaro is worth 9mil/ season in this football economy. Just look at the names listed prior and what they earn. He's also a model professional and the captain who has helped create a strong locker-room; this shouldn't be overlooked. And there's still a good chance he wins serie A player of the season so it's not like he hasn't be delivering the goods in aggregate.
