Lautaro Martinez’s agent on the contract renewal: “There is no agreement with Inter”

Lautaro Martinez’s agent has revealed the situation regarding his client’s contract renewal talks with Inter.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Sportiva via TMW, Lautaro Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano claimed that they have not reached an agreement with Inter regarding a contract extension as there is still time to discuss these details. The agent also cited the player’s tremendous development as a striker in these last few years and so they are expected to leverage that to increase their demands.

He said: “Lautaro is at very high levels, then finding an agreement is not easy, there are many aspects to discuss. Today there is still no real agreement, so let’s stay calm and talk with Inter constantly.”

The 26-year-old has spent the last six seasons with the Nerazzurri and there are still two-and-half years left on his current contract. He is captaining the side in their Scudetto charge and has already lifted the Supercoppa Italiana recently.

Camano remarked on Martinez’s development with the current league leaders and said: “Now the important thing is the team, the moment, and he is happy. Lautaro arrived when he was a boy and had grown a lot: today he is a made player, he is the captain, he has two and a half years on his contract, there is a lot of time to talk, but let’s negotiate Today the focus is on doing great in Serie A and the Champions League.”

With the Argentine entering his prime years, Inter will find it hard to keep him home but they will not let any shortcomings in their attempt to extend his stay at the club.

Yeah what's the rush? Lautaro (agent) is betting on his client and is not agreeing too soon. There's nothing we can do but there's also no rush.

I mean he’s already on a solid wage right now. Unless we’re willing to pay a star wage right this second I don’t see why Lautaro’s camp would accept.

I swear, this reminds me a lot of the Dybala renewal with Juve. Everytime they said that he would stay and it's only mater of some weeks, but months and months were past and nothing happend, even if things were looking good and nobody expected that he would leave. Then suprise, after a long time of negotiate he decided to leave.

What Lautaro Martinez told Inter teammates after Supercoppa victory

“I am proud to be the captain of a team like this,” Lautaro reportedly told his teammates after the game.

“Now, we must keep the bar high, this was only the first step.

This Supercoppa will be even more meaningful if we win the Scudetto. This is the decisive moment, we must focus on Fiorentina, which is too important for the table,” continued El Toro.

“We must remain focused until the end as we did against Napoli. It’s the right path, we must continue thinking about ourselves, as we’ve done until now. We have nothing to fear.”
Legend. I have a feeling that he will stay here for a very long time.

Difference to Dybala case was that they had already bought Vlahovic and Chiesa and Dybala didn't exactly fit to that thing. Dybala extension was like ready to be signed in that autumn but the club hesitated. Then they bought Vlahovic in the January market and then it was over with the renewal for Dybala.

Lautaro case is so different. He's the talisman of this team and club. The club captain who's the first guy on the team sheet. Carrying the team hard. Impossible to see same kind of scenario happening here where he would be suddenly out of the picture because plans change.

Looked he had a common cold or something yesterday. Was coughing before the kickoff and IMO he was a bit lethargic throughout the whole game. True captain of course and not going to leave the team in trouble so he plays 75 minutes. :D

Lautaro has been working hard on himself and he also doesn't seem to be the player that gets injured often. I'll dread that situation when it happens, but not a moment before.

He always does that, it's just clearing his throat, imo.

That header while being kind of a signature move from him was not easy to get on target. He is hitting 30 goals in the league this year.
