A poor man version of Milito. Not that thats a bad thing. I remember having massive hatred for the guy because I saw him as a replacement for Crespo, who was one of my favorite players at the time. Needless to say, he won me over after that legendary brace at the Delle Alpi.

He wasn't only a good super sub, but had some very successful runs as a first team player too. Our top scorer in 05/06 and also almost broke the Serie A record when he scored for 7-8 consecutive matches in 07/08.

I love Cruz and forever will! And I have done so since he destroyed Juventus!

I wouldn't call him a poor man's version of Milito at all. Julio Cruz was Julio Cruz. He was awesome in his very own way. And his career at Inter > Milito's just for the fact that he was consistent and we could depend on him season after season. Milito, on the other hand, meh...

Those 70-80 so-so goals are what gave Milito the chance to win a treble. When Ibra was choking, Adriano was hungover, Recoba was injured and Crespo was missing, Cruz was there. He was the reason we won a couple Scudetti (not the main reason but very important).

Nyall, let's get one thing straight, I love Cruz as a player and yes, he was an important piece of the puzzle in the 07/08 Scudetto.

But he didn't play an important role in the 06/07 Scudetto nor 08/09.

Milito was the DOMINANT reason why we won the Triplette.

I love them both, but I think it's a bit much to say that Cruz's Inter career is better than Milito's.

What career though? Milito was fantastic for us one season and been one of the most useless players on our pay roll the next. We can't even depend on him to come on as a sub and score a tap in... Milito is a one season wonder if anything and that not a bad thing but let's not that get to our heads or let that forget where we came from as a club. The number of vital goals Cruz scored for us before we had Jose and a squad capable of winning a treble is important because without them we would never have been in the situation to be so successful. I'm taking nothing away from Milito or his season but at the same time, don't just right off Cruz as just another player.. just because we have seen the greener grass.. That's not fair to him, he was never more than our third choice striker at best and was never the focal point of our attack and was never given the opportunity Diego was given.

Any chance of a cruz re-vote? The super sub used to strike fear into the opposition. Put it this way toldo is in the legend section when he did fuck all because he couldn't get on the field and lived off of the success of cesar ( yes I am grateful for what he did off of the pitch but cruz did more than that). He sat on the bench for 5 years doing fuck all whereas big cruz control wouldn't sit on the bench he would wait.

Lol at people attacking Toldo. That game against Valencia (not the one where he burst into the dressing room of Valencia) alone makes him LGI worthy.

Plus Toldo's goal against Jube.

Ok but it already starts with comparing a bench goalkeeper with a bench striker, that's just a poor way of bringing forward arguments.

Ban anyone who doubts Toldo's status as a club legend. Toldo :proud: A legend beyond words.

Toldo was a great keeper for us before cesar came and had the humility to be a second keeper because he loved the club. He has also shown his loyalty by working on inter campus post retirement.

great backup. Comes off the bench, bang goals, win derbies, fill in when our strikers would wander off drinking.
Miss him. Prob the best backup we had in Inter history.
