He pushed him in the hip. Maggio tried to stay up but ultimately fell. FK tbfh.

a very slight forearm push to the hip, then fucking maggio does the ive-taken-a-bad-touch-and-am-going-to-loose-the-ball-but-oh-wait-someone-has-given-me-a-push-so-ill-act-as-if-ive-been-shot routine.

Closest thing to character assassination and victimisation I have seen in quite a while. Keep your head up, everyone is behind you...

Julione sayed very well: Obi's yellow card was ridiculous. Obi is strong, he's growing. I feel sorry for him. He has to pick himself up and move forward, because he didn't make mistakes this evening. Really sorry for Obi, i hope this does not bring him down.

Ok..so he wasn't last man...but he did stop them creating a scoring chance by shoving the player. That is a yellow 99 times out of 100.

It was a fk at best and ,considering that zanetti's challenge against lavezzi there was more contact and that wasn't even a yellow or fk then this shouldn't be one either.

Kid got screwed by rocchi. Unfortuantly don't think we can appeal 2 yellows, only straight red's.:palm:

What? Since when has one of the main rules of football been removed?

It was changed few years ago.

Don't have the exact article right now but refs carry a greater responsibility and freedom now to estimate situations. And it's sometimes a bad solution because refs need to react in the heat of the moment(Valencia-Chelsea game, Rami was the last defender when fouled Ramires who would have a clear path to the goal but got only a yellow card because ref thought it was a situtation (a))

To say it in my own words there are two possible situations:

(a)- promising chance for a goal(yellow card)

(b)-player is likely to score a goal(red card)

So, it's pretty possible and it happens alot that defender was in fact the last defender but didn't get the red card because it was just a ''promising'' chance. Like in situations where an attacking player wasn't running straight forward to the goal but sideways.

The rule of the last defender does not exist as such anymore.

"I won the ball and the Napoli player stayed on his feet, so I can't understand the first yellow card. Then the shoulder-to-shoulder contact, when the referee Rocchi gave the penalty, was outside the box. At any rate, I apologise to all the fans and my team-mates. I thank the fans for their support. However, we're not giving up."

Grande Obi, keep your head up.

Jumping on the, 'on a positive note' bandwagon,

Obi's development is so damn positive...if he can become a regular starter throughout the season, he will effectively end the search for the box to box player we have been seeking. Him and Kucka in the middle would be immense, the amount of running and beastiality (not sure if right term) would be awesome.

Kucka and Obi better stay the fuck away from any farm animals.... those are mine damn it!!!!

Anyways what most impressed me about Obi before his sending off was his passing. It was WORLDS better than in previous games. Him and Cuchu were linking up like they came from the same womb. This kid is just gonna get better and better so I hope Ranieri continues to use him. He also seems like he has a good head on his shoulders.

IMO the best thing that could happen to us now is Poli coming good. Basically completes our midfield by next summer. We can look to a boss midfield then and actually spend money on a creative player and a CB.

Obi has done well. But tbh, we would not have been happy if Motta or Muntari had performed the same. Our yardstick is low at the moment and he has to do better to have more of an impact on the game.

Nigerian coach made a mega mega error today, the kind of error that cost them a place in the upcoming ACN! Played CM pairing of Joel Obi & Mikel Obi...Nigeria stayed in command, leading by 2-1...then out of the blue, the dumb wit took out Joel Obi. Result, Nigeria's midfield became so unstable that they were basically run over by Guinee (think of how BBilan bossed our midfield last season! Exact same situation!) Final score 2-2.

Nigeria is out of the ACN. I feel bad coz with Nigeria, Cameroon, Egypt & Tunisia missing out on the ACN, I wonder what kind of excitement will be at that competition...

Good news is, we won't lose Obi in January!

Seeing as the comp clashes with the european season I am thrilled obi won't be taking part, inter needs him.

Till they do the sensible thing and move it outside of the european season I don't give a dam about acn.

Actually, I think for Obi, playing and possibly winning the ACN would be great for his development.
