Yeah, he had decent match last night guys. First half was very quiet for him because Brazil were in control of the game so defenders didnt have much work to do. In the second half it was completelly different, Paraguay was much more dangerous and had lot of good attacks but basically Miranda was calm and concentrated and didnt have any single mistake. His aerial ability was great (I think he won almost everything in the air).

It was Thiago Silva's mistake for goal (for penalty that lead to goal). He played ball with his arm in the box.

All in all its good for Inter that Brazil is out, we will have Miranda with us earlier. I'm quite sure club is gonna give him vacation and extended absence but still he is gonna come back earlier then expected. ;)

Sure Miranda isn't as good as he was 2 or 3 years ago but he is still 3x better than anybody else on our back line. Hopefully this deal is finalized soon. He refused to say that he will for sure sign with us in an interview recently. Hope that doesn't mean anything. I doubt it does though.

"The player is believed to have agreed a three-year contract worth €2.5m per season, with a medical to be completed when Miranda returns from the Copa America."

I guess we have to wait little bit more to make it official

Miranda is 25% better than Ranocchia or Vidic at best, and that's only if he doesn't keep declining, he lost his spot to a 20 years old Giménez FFS, seriously people stop overrating players just because they belong to solid, balanced and successful teams.

Atletico Madrid is one of the best teams defensively in Europe because Simeone is one of the best drilling coaches in the world, only Mourinho may be better than him, Conte is close but definitely below him, and he's managing a team that defends like a unit and everyone works fucking hard to defend, even their offensive players put tons of work in defense.

I hope you're wrong, because Ranocchia is shit, so that means in your opinion that Miranda is just 25% better than shit? Ranocchia should be no captain material, or even a first option for Inter starting eleven. He needs to go ASAP.

You can't. But Miranda is definitely not 3 times better than Vidic or Ranocchia like he said, not even half better, so I went with 25%. Plus I didn't said exactly 25%, I said at best, from 1% to 25% is a pretty big range that surely fits with reality if we could actually measure them.

I would just like to add something to my previous post, another issue i potentially see here is organizing the defense. Miranda, even at his best days when he was beast, he hasn't been someone to organize the defense. It was Godin who was doing that. Miranda needs a leader next to him, someone to organize the defense. That is why he was beast with Godin, but when Godin wasn't playing and Miranda had to organize it, Atletico often had positioning problems and was caught on wrong offside traps.

That being said, we would still lack someone to organize the defense. Murillo is not that imo, Juan god forbid... Rano... It's debatable how he'd do with Miranda. I am putting Miranda as sure starter because no way we are splashing all that money for him to sit on the bench.

Miranda - Vidic is the pairing I'd like to see if the Serb will stay with us for another season. If he's still here I don't see how one could possibly prefer Rano or Juan taking one of those places.

Well, that's depressing. I had hoped that he was brought in to do that very job as that is what we have lacked most in my opinion

Miranda with Vidic in my opinion is far too slow of a pair.

Good point about Miranda.
I actually noticed Murillo organizing the Colombia defense and giving instructions to much more experienced players throughout the Copa America.
Also I have confidence in Vidic, in a properly balanced team he can still be great.

Godin - Miranda was one hell of a duo tho.. Godin was the brain, Miranda the muscle. Both world class players on their day. Worked like a charm, just like Lucio - Samuel in 2010 under Jose.

I think from start Mancio will try with Montoya - Vidic - Miranda - Zukanovic or Dambrosio - Ranocchia - Miranda - Zukanovic.... Miranda is still beast, one of the top defenders of the world, yes Godin is good but for good defence need two CB!

Joao Miranda is fast approaching to Inter. As reported in the online edition of Marca, the player landed at this time in Spain after the elimination of Brazil from the America's Cup and in the evenings accompanied by his agent Jorge Mendes met with the leadership of Atletico to take stock his move to Inter, with whom the club colchonero already has an agreement in two weeks. The center - says the Madrid daily - will arrive at Inter with a new formula that provides the loan for two years with the obligation of redemption set at 15 million Euros.

A backstory also concerns the contract Miranda instead expire in 2016 was renovated last summer until 2018 without the Atletico made him public. The club would then ask the player to wait a year for his departure after last season had decided to block it by rejecting the attacks of Barca, Chelsea and Manchester United. Inter is fully defined, the official is expected within days.
