Man, I've seen people say that players are in form and should play just because they managed to not fuck up two passes in the previous game... It's hard for present day Interisti to understand that form is something that needs like 4-6 games in a row to be a thing.

Perisic was coming off a great season, and considering the obscene money these PL teams pay for shit players *cough* Lukaku *cough*, anything less than the amount we demanded €55m, was an insult. This is one deal where we did the right thing to stick to our guns and demand the rightful valuation.

And if the rumour mill is to be believed, Man Utd were being pricks about it and trying to manipulate and take advantage of us and our settlement agreement. They knew we needed ~€30m in capital gains and they kept trying to lowball us with a 'problem-solving' €30m offer. Fucking slimy dogshit tactics. Obviously as you know, we made the capital gains through other sales like Banega, Caprari, Ansaldi etc. and we didn't need to sell Perisic in the end.

How things 'turned out' isn't an indictment on the non-sale of Perisic, it's an indictment on the operations of the fucking team and club since then.

Things turned out was that we made the CL and Perisic scored 11 goals in that season. It was the right call not to sell him. In hindsight it would have been good to sell Perisic last summer after brilliant World Cup. But I don't know if there were even real interest.
