But they have Ibra.

Yeah a 39 year old ibra... The dude is still a beast but only for 45 min max....
Seriously if BBilan wins the scudetto with a 39 year old ibra as their best player then serie a is in a way worse condition that i thought.

I d still consider it a success for that team if they finish in the cl spots.

Ibra's not a winger or box to box. It's not like he got shorter or physically weaker.

Folks seems to get hung up on age a lot, not realising that age is just one variable.

Ibra was always going to be one of those few players who was going to be have a long career. That is because his best attributes - physicality, hold up play, ball skills - doesnt depreciate with age. Sure, he cant play the full 90 anymore but dont kid yourself that he wouldnt dominate in the EPL or La Liga either. Dude is a physical freak and he is still very fit.

Moreover, we are less dependant on Ibra than Inter are on Lukaku. Maybe we are not as good as we are with him, but the supporting cast (Rebic, Leao, Hakan, Saelemakers) have done a decent job.

We have the youngest squad in the top 5 leagues. Will we win the scudetto? Unlikely. But the team has done well so far and Pioli has instilled a sense of identity into the team. Everyone knows what they need to to do on the pitch and move as a collective. Obviously, mistakes happen but our gameplay has vastly improved. The biggest advantage we have is that because the squad is so young, they can only improve.

A team doesnt go 22 games unbeaten just out of pure luck. Yes, there are some weaknesses. We still need a tall physical CB, RW and a backup for Kessie but I am confident management have plans to reinforce in January.

As long as we are in the hunt for top 4 by Jan, I will be happy.

Milan are LESS dependant on Ibra than Inter are dependant on Lukaku? :serious: That other players score goals doesn't mean that Milan are less dependant on Ibra. This Milan side were utter shit before Ibra came, also while Pioli was coaching. You drew vs. fucking Rio Ave without Ibra, had issues with Bodø Glimt. If you take out Ibra from your team Milan won't finish in the top 4, it's simple as that. It's not only the goals and assists, it's mainly the mentality he brings which is unparalleled.

"Maybe we are not as good as we are without him" AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. So delusional, 22 games unbeaten has really fucked up some milanisti's minds.

Sure, he cant play the full 90 anymore

Of course he can and he has already proven it by playing full 90 in almost every game including the derby.
He picks moments to run, which is few and far between. He rests when the teammates are trying to recover the ball.
Fatigue is not and never will be a major issue for players like him and Messi because there are measures taken by the coach to prevent it. They need them to be available for every minute of every game.

Rio Ave? A game where we were also missing Rebic? Where we had to use Daniel Maldini upfront? Tell me, how would Inter fare if both Lautaro and Lukaku were out injured?

Also Bodo Glimt, we scored 3 goals unless you are somehow suggesting Ibra is also a CB. Milan has played plenty of games this season without Ibra and have managed. Of course top 4 would be difficult if Ibra got injured, but that would be the same for Inter with Lukaku.

Ibra has been super important in changing the mentality of the team. But Pioli has been important too. Yes, the team was shit before Ibra arrived, but that was largely due to hiring a shit system coach who didnt know what the fuck he were doing. When Pioli came in, he didnt have a preseason with the players also. Since Jan, Milan has lost two games (Inter and Genoa). And during that time, there have been plenty of games that Ibra has missed. Milan finished 1 point behind Inter and Atalanta in the 2018/19 season.

At the end of the day, any team will suffer if their top scoring threat is out injured, that isnt rocket science. Ibra has been key to our revival and so has Pioli. I am actually happy that we have managed ok without him also. Yes, there would be inevitably dip in performances. But this team has atleast shown they have grown. Regardless, top 4 is our priority and so far we are on target.

Not sure tbh.

He mostly plays the full 90 because he wants to. He is usually gassed towards the end lately. Maybe still sufferong from the after effects of Covid.

Milan have played without Ibra in 4 games this season. Versus: Crotone, Spezia, Bodø Glimt and Rio Ave. That's two of the worst sides in Serie A and two pub sides. Milan drew against Rio Ave and could very well have drawn versus Bodø Glimt. You can credit Pioli all you want, but he's been a manager for almost 20 years and has achieved literally nothing. All his adventures proceeds the same way: great for a while, then a massive dip.

You are simply fooling yourself if you don't recognize the massive impact Z has had on this team. Lukaku is a great player and maybe Inter's most important player, but I still believe Z brings more to Milan than Lukaku brings to Inter, especially with regards to mentality and belief.

Who ever thinks this ibra is as good as ibra was even at united is delusional..(no argument that serie a is a better fit for him)
And yes he does not run as much as he used to and yes thats why he wont get as tired but it also means that he cannot carry the team for an entire season.
Heck he arguably cant even carry the team for the entire 90 mins dude looks gassed after 60mins...
He s a great player who still has WC moments and he is amazing considering his age but he s not on a level to carry a team for 90 mins imho.

WIth all due respect but if this Zlatan is enough for bbilan to be a title contender than serie a is in way worse shape than any of us thought.
Last time i checked dude was not enough to win the MLS...

Ibra was also out for the first few games after the COVID-break last season.
The team comfortably beat Roma 2-0 and Lecce 4-1 without him.
He was also taken off early against Juve and Napoli before Milan's best moments.

You can credit Pioli all you want, but he's been a manager for almost 20 years and has achieved literally nothing. All his adventures proceeds the same way: great for a while, then a massive dip.

The fact that he was able to get great performances and results at some point with all of his previous teams since Bologna is a strong indication that there is enormous potential in him.
All great runs end eventually.
Klopp overachieved with Mainz until he got them relegated.
He won multiple league titles with Dortmund, until he almost got them relegated too.
Mourinho has the infamous 3rd season. Conte's teams tend to regress over time.
Pochettino burned out his Tottenham players.
Ancelotti deploys the same players until fatigue ends their title hopes.

Pioli teams' great form didn't have the longevity of those coaches', but then again he didn't have their luxuries. He didn't even get a preseason with Inter.
This is his first real chance to prove himself. The squad is getting stronger in every transfer window, and the misfits are being discarded. This is unprecedented in many ways. Comparisons with his previous spells make little sense.

Agree, in the sense that Zlatan is the better player, therefore he brings more to Milan.

I saw that Roma game and it was far from comfortable. It was a match between two bad teams. Also vs Juve IIRC Milan were already in the lead when Zlatan was subbed off, against Napoli I can't recall the details.

Comparing top international coaches to Pioli is beyond ridiculous. Probably the biggest trademark with Pioli's teams is that his teams suddenly drop in performance after a while. We have seen that in literally every job he has had the last decade. I wonder why Pioli wasn't hired by Milan when they had the chance last summer? Instead they opted for Giampaolo. Also they wanted Spalletti and not Pioli when Giampaolo was fired. Ralf Ragnick was supposed to take over until like two weeks before last season ended.

The fact is that Pioli was merely a caretaker that started getting good results. 95% of Milan fans were heavily against his appointment in the first place. Pioli has been coaching for 20 years yet this is the first time he has the possibility of proving himself, simply incredible.

Zlatan is great but let's see if he can last a full season. He is 39 years old and it shows, his influence on games clearly diminish in the 2nd half.

You're right, you're definitely not a Milan troll. What was I thinking?

I thought i had read everything on this forum till i saw Pioli being compared to Klopp. What luxuries did Klopp have at Dortmund? He inherited a team that was fighting to avoid relegation, he had minimal budget (the first time Dortmund spent serious money on a player was in 2012 when they signed Reus) and he built the team that ended up being a Bundesliga champion two times in a row (first time a German team not named Bayern achieving it since 1994-96) and a CL finalist from scratch step by step. He won the Bundesliga against a Bayern side that had reached a CL final a year ago with a left side consisting of freaking Schmelzer and Großkreutz.

Viola might hire Sarri. With him, they might fight for a top 6 spot, if not top 4. That squad is begging only for a good coach.

I'd be curious to see if Sarri would give up all that guaranteed money from Juve to coach Viola. It would be stupid, but I also don't think he cares about money that much and just likes coaching.

Spalletti was just like "fuck that shiiiiiit, pay me."

What's the story with Juventus-Napoli? Is it conclusive that Juventus gets the 3 points or is there an appeal in place?

Udinese need to stop looking for fouls and just attack when they have the break. Also it's hilarious and sad that Milan permanently wear a 7 CL badge on their jersey at all times, even in league matches, even though they haven't played in the CL in 7 years.

Fuck off Musso, retard. :palm: Milan take the lead with a dogshit goal.
