Rio Ave? A game where we were also missing Rebic? Where we had to use Daniel Maldini upfront? Tell me, how would Inter fare if both Lautaro and Lukaku were out injured?
Also Bodo Glimt, we scored 3 goals unless you are somehow suggesting Ibra is also a CB. Milan has played plenty of games this season without Ibra and have managed. Of course top 4 would be difficult if Ibra got injured, but that would be the same for Inter with Lukaku.
Ibra has been super important in changing the mentality of the team. But Pioli has been important too. Yes, the team was shit before Ibra arrived, but that was largely due to hiring a shit system coach who didnt know what the fuck he were doing. When Pioli came in, he didnt have a preseason with the players also. Since Jan, Milan has lost two games (Inter and Genoa). And during that time, there have been plenty of games that Ibra has missed. Milan finished 1 point behind Inter and Atalanta in the 2018/19 season.
At the end of the day, any team will suffer if their top scoring threat is out injured, that isnt rocket science. Ibra has been key to our revival and so has Pioli. I am actually happy that we have managed ok without him also. Yes, there would be inevitably dip in performances. But this team has atleast shown they have grown. Regardless, top 4 is our priority and so far we are on target.
