Chiesa  IMO easily the best Italian talent of this current young generation. So much to like about the player yet so much to dislike at the same time.

He looks dangerous every time he has the ball. His ability to evade defenders, work the ball through them and make things happen in attack is superb.

On the other hand, he walks around on the pitch like a superstar (which he isn’t, yet), complains and chastises his teammates an insane amount for a young player, even if he is the star and a leader of the group. His diving and bitching is irritating and taking a penalty off the designated penalty taker is always a dick move. I was livid when he (predictably) failed to convert his penalty.

Fiorentina were very impressive in general. Pulgar, like Sensi, has managed the “step up” very nicely. He and Castrovilli are a great combination for them with Badelj a solid anchor as always.

While no one can doubt Ribery’s quality, I was skeptical at the idea of a Ribery - Chiesa front line, without any outright striker. But they’ve made it work really well.

Also forza Dalberto. I hope he keeps playing at this strong level and earns a permanent move. Win-win situation for all.

Dalbert had some insane sprints yesterday.
I alternated between an English and American stream due to some buffering issues and both hosts were making fun of Chiesa for diving. The reputation is developed.
A bit of entitlement is somewhat understandable even if it can't be justified, from my understanding Chiesa wanted to be a Juventus player at this point and instead got persuaded into staying with Fiorentina. I rate Montella for his comedic timing but I doubt he can accelerate his development like some proper manages could.

Ribery still got it, hopefully he can stay fit.

Don't have one.
What means "hint of ambition"? You cannot say, they haven't bought players! In the last 3 years they spent probably a few hundreds millions! The problem is they spent those money criminally bad!

It means someone who isn't there just because they got scammed by some chinese dude. What kind of long term ambition can vulture fund have...

1-3 Milan - Fiorentina
In the prediction league... Can't say I didn't see that coming :yao:

Fiorentina are scary, really, might easily create some trouble for our defenders, although they're the typical attacking team - they'll leak a lot against a proper team. Their goal difference is 11:10...

You really don't remember how shitty Inter was before Spalletti, huh?
Spalletti got the players he asked for, barely made it to CL. He might be ok tactically but when it comes to motivation he is as bad as it gets. He looks worse than brozovic when the team falls flat. Also useless match coach. If he kept Pioli he would have been better.

(1) Spalletti did NOT get the players he asked for. He operated under SA.
(2) We made it to CL. Period.
(3) Funny you mention brozovic. Who put brozovic in his current position? What was brozovic's career trajectory prior to Spalletti arrival?
(4) Pioli? Surely you jest...

I'm obviously enjoying the circus at Milan, which comes after months of bold mottos (“head high and play football”, when Giampaolo fell in the journalists' trap and replied without malice to Conte's "head down and pedal") and funny calciomercato rumours (from Ceballos to Modric), but, speaking of downfalls, the Rossoneri set the bar too high with their 2017/18 season and the Summer of Yonghong Li.

Hundreds of millions of dubious origin were coming and going in mysterious ways (it's almost like "someone”, mixing business and pleasure, made sure to break his beloved toy so that no one could play after him: very narcissistic, but not surprising).
Mirabelli and Fassone were the best signings of calciomercato, according to Curva Sud and those who idolized the duo.
Milan fans were fearing nobody and declared “war” against Juventus.
Bonucci was the defensive leader of their army (not the sweeper protected by Chiellini and Juve) and Skriniar wasn't an obsession - not yet.
Biglia was a world-class regista (not the injury-prone mediano with good build-up play in Lazio's system).
Kessié was Rijkaard 2.0, and so on.

This time we could only hear stuff like “Bennacer&Krunic 24 mln, Sensi&Barella 85 mln” during the summer, and it doesn't feel the same.

We've been spoiled recently and I won't ask for another Brignoli or Serie B, but more entertainment is needed (Gattuso as the new Genoa coach just days before the game against Milan would [have] be[en] a good start).
And I can already see a momentary and deceptive Milan resurgence on the horizon.

(1) Spalletti got all the players he asked for, Nainggolan, Borja, Vecino, Dalbert etc

(2) We made CL with luck

(3) He did "fix" Brozovic, he also ruined Gagliardini (Conte will save him)

(4) Pioli is a much better coach

regarding spalletti: according to italian journalist bruno longhi (sportmediaset), our former coach last summer confided to his closest friends that he would not work this season, unless he got a call from milan.

Where he would fail miserably.

I'm curious about what people think about what transpired in the Torino-Parma game (specifically regarding the penalty calls).

The red against Torino seemed dubious, though I do see how a strict interpretation of the rules might validate it. I just agree with Belotti that the guy instinctively put his arm up to protect his face. A yellow would seem more appropriate, if anything.

On the other end, Belotti gets whacked across the face... yellow card, not red.

So to be reductionist about it:
*avoid getting hit in the face with the ball in the box = red card
*hitting someone in the face with your arm in the box = yellow card

I mean really? Of course I don't have a horse in that race so I'm not that fussed about it, but I'd be pissed if I were a Torino fan.

Well then Spalletti needs to get new close friends asap.

I usually wouldn't bother reporting such a rumour, but I consider this journalist much more credible than the average.

Roma sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi, is facing heavy sanction with the risk of being suspended for up to one year.

The issue is that he started working for the Giallorossi as its director when he was still under contract with Torino.

This hypothesis is being investigated by the federal prosecutor on the recommendation of the Italian Football Association . The proceeding happened after a statement made by Petrachi himself during the presentation of Henrikh Mkhitaryan on September 10th when he said that “when I first met Inter in May (for Dzeko), I already set my price.”

The prosecutor has asked the league for documentation to verity employment date of Petrachi for Torino and Roma and will be in direct contact with him in the next few days.

For what it's worth, he was not the president, he was the owner.

Which is worse because it was him who was basically funding the team via ridiculously overvalued sponsorship deals.
