I dunno who else he's suggested but caicedo and Correa are clearly his signings in my view, and both are a fucking waste of money.

If you consider that our only untouchables are likely to be Bastoni and Skriniar, I'd up that figure.
On a positive note, both Barella and Lautaro have renewed their deals so they're not likely to agree to move.

Sorry my point was more about people who are expiring etc rather than potential sales

I disagree regarding Lautaro. If a big offer comes in from, Real, PSG, Barcelona, City or Liverpool. He will run faster than ever before.

Didn't seem to care much about Barcelona's offer two seasons ago and City's last season. He kinda reacted by signing a new deal.

It'll be different if we push him out though, I suspect that will be the case.
Him or Barella are likely to be scapegoated next after Hakimi.

I wanna see the people praising Marotta and the Zhangs in case we lose Brozovic despite being able to agree with him when it'd be safe, we've even delayed singing the deal and now he's entertaining offers from Barcelona, Manchester United, Tottenham and maybe a couple of others. Let's see if money gets to his head. Are you ready to see Kessié coming in his place with a 5ys x 7m contract?
Imagine losing Barella as well in the same window. Or Lautaro. That includes De Vrij leaving most probably.

Good luck having a summer window needing to replace 5-6 core starters with limited funds.

He cared he even stated

I was truly very close to joining Barcelona and I even talked it over with Messi,” he said.

“However, the Blaugrana had economic problems at that moment, so I decided to stay at Inter. It proved to be the right decision, especially as we then won the Scudetto.

“It’s just incredible to win the title at such an important club.

That means Barcas could not pay the transfer fee that Inter wanted. Because he basically agreed to the contract.

Yeah it would be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Marotta can be the best director around, if Zhang will not have him spend any money. We are really in a bad situation.

Marotta made a name by selling the best players of his team. He was lucky at Sampdoria which gave him a ticket to join Juventus with an Agnelli with huge appetite and rivals in disarray. Let's not go over all these again.

He's very good at his job but he's also a detached asshole who doesn't care about fans or players, so he's willing to sell Skriniar, Lautaro, Handanovic, Barella and anyone else on this team that's still here that would be gone if he had it his way.
Not the kind of director I want at Inter which is why I'm not his biggest fan, nothing to do with being employed by Juventus apart from getting credit for sporting performance that came from their cheating and never speaking up about how corrupt that organization was. Anyway, let's hope we can rally to win the league because it's very likely he'll pull a 2019 and announce to everyone that they're expendable again and cause a mess. It's February after all, his favorite month.

This mentality may work on players who fear for their status at Inter and want to give 110% to change his mind, but it doesn't really work. Skriniar almost left and Hakimi left. That's a very bad sign.

I agree with you on some sense. People believe far to much on Marottas ability. He is a just a corporate dude who only does what the owner tells him to do. He does not appear to give a fuck about the fans or the team. Only what his owner are telling him to do.

Marotta can be whatever he wants to be, people believe in him because he had a track record of making whatever he did worked. He has been 'lucky' for decades, maybe it's time for you to consider luck a serious skill.

Well, he was lucky that Zamparini made him what he was when Venezia was rising from Serie B, he jumped ship when things turned to shit and then moved to a team in disarray that soon after ended up being taken over by an ambitious owner at Sampdoria.
Juventus came knocking after a good Sampdoria run, he had a very bad first year dismantling half the squad and then with the new stadium, heavy investments, refereeing help and abysmal performance by Inter, they won the league in 2012, which was their announced target btw, something that people like to leave out.

So yeah, I think lucky qualifies here. If you think he had the foresight to see that Sampdoria would have been taken over and call that skill, I don't know.

He's very good at his job, no one denies that. And he's experienced at all possible levels, but his management style will probably annoy us more than it will makes us happy in the near future.

Are you ready to sacrifice De Vrij, Barella, Lautaro and Skriniar for the sake of Marotta's pawn moves along with some misfires like Brozovic? If so, you're well equipped for what's coming and I envy you.

Yes, it's well established fact that Marotta will sell anyone for good money. Then replace them with unattractive options, to say the least.

But it works, so I'm fine with it.

It's things like this that make me take everything else you say with a big grain of salt.

Excellent coverage of Inter's precarious financial situation by SwissRamble - a good read on the follow up tweets below.

Even though this situation has improved due to the sales of Lukaku & Hakimi, I guess we can't get the new stadium fast enough. Wee also need to cut our wage bill, and while I will be sad to see some of them go, in the next 6 to 18 months we need to shed Sanchez, Vidal, Dzeko, Kolarov, Perisic, De Vrij, Handanovic, etc. And replace them with young, lower wage players like Scamacca, Frattesi, etc.

Let's keep this thread free of ranting about Marotta.

SwissRamble breakdown looks like we're not gonna have a spending spree in the summer. Or we have to sell someone big again.

Those Barella and Lautaro figures will be bigger next season, Skriniar figure will be higher too, probably. And if Brozovic stays, his figure will almost double.

If Brozovic doesn't re-sign, it's just fine. It means he went for higher money and that's fine, we can't go extra mile for any of these guys (including Dybala).

Well it doesn't cover our 21/22 period where we made a lot of plusvalenza.

My expectation is that we won't do much business this summer unless we have an unexpected CL run beyond what you've already heard e.g. frattesi, scamacca, some freebies

As I said thing is the release of a bunch of people like vecino, Vidal, Sanchez, etc, frees up a lot of expenditure
