Let's overreact, shall we? Bisseck still a little rough but should slot in as the number 1 option when Pavard returns. Darmian can play anywhere, but should be the first option with Dumfries as the backup. Acerbi/ De Vrij should be rotated frequently. Arnautovic is an oaf, and Cuadrado pretty much done as a consistent option. Sensi should be used as a starter/first sub during the Coppa, along with Asllani and Frattesi.

We look fucking awesome. Sociedad will be a real test part 2 for the first part of the season. Part one was in Turin. Get win now at home instead of a draw, make a statement and secure that important first position in CL group.

The rotation is imo is Cuadrado for Dumfries
Carlos for Dimarco

Pavard/Darmian/Bissek --- Acerbi/De Vrij ----- Bastoni/Darmian/Acerbi/Bissek

I was at the stadium and it was awfully cold. There were lots of things you guys didn't manage to catch on TV:

  1. Bastoni's off the ball movement is world class, which explains why he's always able to produce threat down the flank. Carlos is great but their tactical impact is day and night.
  2. Bisseck is a lot stronger in real life. He's more than sufficient to start against the likes of Frosinone and Udinese. When they were announcing the formation, he got the coldest reception (probably because everyone has forgotten about who wears the no.31 shirt). By half time, everyone was cheering every time he moves forward. Credits to Darmian who's like his personal tutor on the pitch, giving him instructions every now and then.
  3. Dimarco's passing accuracy has dropped significantly compared to earlier this season. But since he always shows up in the right place and he should still be our undisputed starter
  4. The Mkhitaryan we know is back. It's clear as daylight he shouldn't be expected to play every 3 days. I wish Simone would field Barella as LCM and Frattesi as RCM from time to time. Bare is pretty comfortable playing on the left.
  5. Lautaro... everyone was like 'phew thank God he got one'. He worked so bloody hard. You don't see this on TV. He's basically a Zanetti in the opponent's final third.

I really like it when you compare Lautaro and Zanetti. We again have a player who has immense workrate, is rarely injured, and most of all loyalty and leadership. Both Zanetti and Lautaro are also talented. Il Capitano dribbling was rare in his generation.

When we got the penalty, I was thinking would Lautaro give it to Hakan as usual? And he did. Im so glad that he eventually scored with a strike like that. Similar to the one against Bologna.

P/s just order Pavard jersey. Cant resist after his moment with Thuram.

That trio is golden, it’s so nice seeing such players with so much commitment and no drama

Also I must unwillingly admit much is probably also down to Marotta making sure that the core of the team is now Italians and where the team is now mainly made up of “Europeans” making a unity out of the group a lot easier to achieve.

We have previously had major issues with the locking room been split in fractions, also getting rid of all the disturbing elements have likely been a blessing. It’s interesting how calm everything has become after the balkan gang left.

A lot comes down to their upbringing unfortunately and I sympathise with those players. We had players like Lukaku, Cassano and Balotelli whom unfortunately grew up in broken families and had a lot of self esteem issues. The moment they had the slightest success and would just overcompensate on everything.

On the other end you have guys like Thuram, Dumfries and Darmian. Strict parents and understand the virtue of grit. Even if they have an off game or if they’re not gifted at all, they’ll dust it off and play the next one professionally.

No player should be excluded because they came from a disadvantaged background. But scouts need to take that into consideration cos football is a team sport. You really don’t want a toxic team like Man Utd where everyone thinks they have an ego bigger than Jupiter.

Balkan directness isn’t an issue. But it’s the hand-throwing and “not my fault” finger-pointing that are annoying. Then of course you have odd balls like Alexis…

I still think only Brozo was like that. Perišić was a professional that only had a problem with two players and both of them didn't stay at Inter long
