Mikkel what game were you watching? The team? Mancini to blame for this one?
The team worked their ass off, even losers like Dacourt who I wanted off at the 2nd half was putting in tremendous work. Javier Zanetti was a GOD out there! Ibra, all of them, Viera winning balls, and holding it and distributing it excellently between the numerous players. We ran Sampdoria out of the San Siro, they were clinging to nothing.
There was no WAY Viera was offside. Not even in any instance, because when the ball came over the top he was onside, when hit the ball he was inline!
The game was an officiating nightmare.
Good post, Neon. I agree, during the last half hour we were playing like true champions and we were constantly getting screwed. Vieira wasn't offisde, and if you call that a push by Adriano then you don't know the definition of a push. We deserved all 3 points, nothing less. This game will not be good for our morale, especially having to play in the toughest stadium in Italy in midweek.
Cesar 5: Didn't seem secure, and I think that's like 10 penalties in a row that he barely even moves to save the ball.
Cordoba 5.5: I didn't think it was a penalty, it was a 50-50 call and in cases like that you should give it to the defender. Stupid yellow card and unecessary fouls.
Materazzi 6.5: Better than Cordoba, but still the unecessary fouls.
Maicon 6: 1st half was good, I don't like his defending. He's technically gifted...that's about it.
Zanetti 7.5: Our best player in the 2nd half, playing out of position and defending like a true fullback should. When we were pressing for a goal, no one was trying harder than him, winning corners and free kicks.
Dacourt & Vieira 5.5: Unimpressed, f-cking stupid mispasses and giveaways in midfield, made up for it during the last half hour but the other 60 min were garbage.
Stankovic 4.5: I thought he was horrible, and he should be the last person on the team taking free kicks.
Mariano 6.5: I like the fact that he hustles and defends well. Showed that he's a very solid dribbler, I think he has great potential to offer us.
Crespo 5.5: He gets the extra .5 because he loses his marker and creates space for Ibra and Figo...should've scored, though.
Zlatan 7.5: One of our few consistent players throughout the game, always looked dangerous and always gave hell to the Sampdoria defense. Set-up Crespo alot who should've done better.
Figo 6.5: We needed someone to create chances for us, and he's the only player available on the bench that could've done it. Almost scored off a header too. I just don't like the fact that our only player like that is 34 years old.
Adriano 6.5: The images of him on the bench standing up and paying attention to the game very closely showed that he was really up to this game, he wanted to play and he seemed lively the first minute he stepped on the pitch. I just hope this was the beginning of what could be Adriano's regain of form.
