I don't think the problem was Adriano.

The midfield only got really going after he came off (not his fault), and until that there was really no pressure on Roma. Ibra-Adri is a good pair with a pure finisher, Crespo coming in possibly.

What a match! When it was 3-0 i thought to myself, It would be nice if this match ended 4-3. It did, play in the second half was just brillant at times.

Figo, Viera, Maicon all played great, Zlatan is definitly slowly coming back to form and Crespo scored an excellent header but was otherwise quite invisible.

Incredible, Both teams played excellent attacking football, just in one half each.:)

Great night for me! Enjoyable and Glorious!!! This is the team that everyone likes: The team that started the match from the first minute of the second half till the last minute of the match. This is the dominante Mancini, not what you was saying after every match last year! This is the match to remember. I wanted to record this match but I don't know why I didn't!!!

Totally agree. It's such a beautiful thing to have a commanding midfielder in Vieira who seems to have a veteran understanding with Figo. The feeling between the two is mutual, a blind man can spot them linking up.

Deki being put out of his misery out on the wings and having Maicon play as a rightback-wingback was fantastic. The 4-4-2 just wasn't working properly, and I congratulate Mancio for figuring that out.
Definetly.

I said plenty times before, we can't play 4-4-2 with our players, because we have to weak wingers!!!, and no creativity at all in the middle.

4-3-3 is the best suited tactic for our team. I mean, what do we have?

- Great center midfield,
- Great and to me the best side backs in the world(4 of them!)
- Great pottential in attack

And what is the best suited formation to do this? 4-3-3. I mean you all saw it who watched the whole game! You all saw our side backs were just CRUSHING them! It was such an amazing view!!!

I just hope Mancio is not blind, I mean he changed it in the first place, so I think he knows now what we have to play.

Yet it's a shame David left us, he would be just amazing in this set up. But what we can do now.

I have to say if Dejan-Patrick-Esteban will repeat this performance in other matches I won't miss David a bit. I mean, they were dominant in the middle like I've never seen before.

Oh man its one game after another. I am pretty sure that our management is gonna get tired of Adriano very soon. He plays like an idiot, and then shows attitude when substituted.

I'm no mindreader, but is being disappointing at your own performance a showing off unprofessional attitude. He wasn't cursing or anything. He was helding his head down and he was probably shamed of his performance. He was the most happiest guy after we scored the 4th goal and it turned on Inter bench.

I mean look how we played in the midfield in the first and second half? You couldn't believe it's the same team.

I think Adri - Ibra will work fine. Just put them in the formation like we played in the second half. So much space, so much... flair, you could just love the game, the moves, the passing.

No 4-4-2 Mancio.

ps. Maybe I will make avatar like that LOL :p
ps2. You who didn't see it, should definetly download the game. I'm gonna burn it on cd's when I download it, so it should be enough sign for you :p

Great game. Great game back and I am glad Mancini seems to release( maybe a bit late) that 4-3-1-2 is the way to go. And on Adriano I don't think he showed attitude. He was disappointed when he got subbed but after that was smiling on the bench joining in the celebrations afterwards, etc. I think he was just disappointed in hi performance.

IBRA had a good debut 2 assits not too bad. Great game from Figo. Viera was very impressive in his first official outing. Grosso was disappointing.

Matrix-Samuel doesn't work as was shown in the first half. We better keep Burdisso we will need him.

What a comeback. The last 75 minutes we owned Roma 110%. It was like we weren't going to lose, no matter what. We produced, produced and produced. Dominated every square millimetre of the pitch. Truly amazing.

Maicon? He was bossing Roma's left wing around for the total duration of his match.

Stankovic? What a player. Running continuesly. Buliding up, passing, shooting. Everything. Magnificent.

Vieira, Cambiasso? Kings of the midfield. Passing, winning balls, scoring. Seemed like they had a fantastic understanding. Vieira went forward while Cuchu held back a little.

Ibra? Class player. Only minus is finishing, but right now I don't care.

Crespo? Goal scoring machine.

Figo? Not only glimpses of golden past, this was the golden past!

INTER ALÉ ALÉ ALÉ!

Looks like our only striker that can score is Crespo...Adriano was really bad,and we all saw what Ibrahimovic missed,Crespo scored a great goal and i don't know why you insist to use the Adri-Ibra pair

oh my god

I thought that if the first half continued, we would have lost like more than 3 goals.. but when the second time started it was different!

very good change in mancio, from that flat 4-4-2 to a more creative 4-3-1-2

I pretty much agree you in all.

Matrix - Samuel only works on certain occasions. And Roma is not one of them. Matrix - Samuel is the good option when we play teams like Fiorentina. Who have a striker like Toni who needs tough handling, but isn't fast. While Roma's fast passing totally killed both Matrix and Samuel.

Now I'm scared. Why are everyone dedicating this victory to President Facchetti who weren't at the stadium tonight?

“We played the game well tactically and technically in the first half, but from a physical point of view Inter were stronger and wrestled themselves back into it,” pointed out the Giallorossi Coach.

What the heck is Luciano babbling about? We played so many games in last 30 days, and he thinks we are good in physical point of view? I think we were pretty equal.

It will be somewhere around the torrents I guess. Just keep checking the forum, and I think sooner or later someone will post the link.

All the INTER-ROMA or ROMA-INTER matches use to be great and with a lot of goals.
I can't believe some people say that the comeback was cause of Adriano, sure Crespo goal was the best of the match (what a header this guy have, i mean, Martins, Adri, Recoba or Cruz can't score that style of goals.... ) but when Crespo enter in the game Adriano was working better than Ibrahimovic, an attack Adriano-Crespo don't looks bad.
The third goal of Vieira was a Ibrahimovic assist?? i don't think so, that was a shoot, problem is that this guy can't shoot correctly, god know why.....
please bring back Martins and take Ibrahimovic.

By the way the duo in the midfield, both are more defensive than offensive, but i like it, Cambiasso was one of the best players today along with Vieira, Figo, JZ, Maicon........ someone know what happen with Grosso? he was not playing bad.

When Roma scored the second i still was believing in a comeback, but when the third.... anyway i have been watching all the game except the extra-time, of tha shit of the ppstream, too bad i have not seen Figo goal.
Well, i don't really care about this tournaments, atleast this means the team has a good mentality, but i think we should be more compact, i mean, the midfield with the strikers and all that.

Vieira and Figo were the best players on the pitch. For information of the ones who was critisizing Vieira, the reason that Figo was feeling so fresh tonight was the high supporting of stamina from his fellows in midfield! That's the difference of Vieira to Veron and Pizzaro. That's the reason Inter could easily use Figo and Solari at the same time, although Mancini didn't do that AS EXPECTED!!

Player Ratings -

Francesco Toldo (7) - Saved our asses twice by running out of the goal with great reaction and once with making a great save. But the old Toldo would've not conceeded all of those 3 goals.

Javier Zanetti (8) - First half was simply awful, but in the second and extra-time he got himself going. And before one of the corners I believe he asked Curva to make more noise. Lots of great runs. Lost my count. Eventhough lacked to understand when to give the ball away unlike Figo. Imo guilty of the first goal.

Marco Materazzi & Walter Samuel (both 6, partership 5) - They didn't gel together at all. Cathastrophic first half. In the second they improved themselves, and both did some nice tackles, but the blame is mostly on them.

Fabio Grosso (5.5) - Was that the Fabio we saw in WC. He was totally out of the match. Only saw him during the free-kicks and when he got bringed out. Disappointing, but I'm sure he can improve himself.

Patrick Vieira (9) -Two goals bring him up from 8 to 9. Great powerful header at the first half and he was in the right place to score the second. His tackles at the start were rather clumsy, but he improved himself along with the team. Him getting foward also added extra dimension to the attack.

Esteban Cambiasso (8.5) - Bambi was class. It's hard to see his contribution some games like this one, but it was there and it was huge. I'd say he was the owner of the midfield. He made some great tackles, dictated the tempo.

Luis Figo (10) - Who said he haven't got it anymore? The only very good player in the second half. His runs were amazing, his passes were perfect, his freekick was great. He didn't make a step wrong. And he lasted until the end of the match, which suprised me quite a lot to be honoust. Il Grande Figo. No doubt 2nd best Portugese player ever. Proud to have such a football legend in our team.

Dejan Stankovic (8) - Lost in the first half. But after the change of formation Deki's performance was 9 worth. He worked hard, eventhough his creative side needs some reshaping as it is far from last season.

Adriano (6) - He was only there for some periods in the game. Nothing dangerous from the Il Imperatore and he was unahppy himself also with his game. He needs to improve in order to keep his first team place.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (8.5) - Ibra missed 1 golden chance and another good chance, but otherwise. The more better he was looking, the more better Inter's attack worked. Two assists speak for themselves. Eventhough one of them could also be counted as another bad shot, but who cares anyway. I liked his style of playing.

Hernan Crespo (8) - Typical Crespo game. Lost for most of the time, but when he touches the ball. Something amazing always comes out. Perfect header goal and what a friekin back-heel to Ibra in the 3-3 goal. he could've added his second, but instead of letting him go one vs one with gk ref gave us a free kick.

Maicon (8) - Lovely game from the debutant. Certainly impressed me. Eventhough it took some time for him to get into the game he then started to make some very nice moves. Espescially in combination with Deki.

Oliver Dacourt (NA) - Didn't see much of him as he barely touched the ball in the 15 minutes he played.

There are still room for improvements. Espescially in defence, but I'd like to believe at the moment it's just that we're not in the shape yet. The following 2 weeks should be enough.
