not just that, what makes you think that this so called 'idiotic' person will only play 4-4-2? He said he has been trying and is willing to play many formations, especially because his team is very versatile and if 4-4-2 works who are you to judge?

Gee.
And yet we let go David go, despite the fact, that he would do really great in this formation.

What I'm trying to say is, that we have to wait and see, cause it would be not the first time of Mancio makeing "great" decision.

And we can't play 4-4-2 because mostly it will be like in the first half against Roma. No creativity, no chances, no game, nothing.

We have let David go because of his wishes (in this formation he would have to compete with Deki for the spot) and because we had to make some money..
Maybe he'll return next year

Yes, if u introduce Pizarro, who do u quit? also, in this formation 4-3-1-2 we have the luck that Figo and Stanko and versatile players who can play everywhere in the attacking midfield. So in the same game we can play 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-2-2 without any changes.

Well, I finally saw an extended highlight of the game. What struck me is how some here tried to show Zlatan's misses as completely horrible.

Granted, he could have scored from either, but in no way it was a clear breakaway or something in that nature. In the first one ('assist' to Vieira) he wasn't facing the goal and the ball fell to his weaker left foot. To be honest, I don't know if it was a shot, he didn't even look at the goal and there is a chance it was a pass after all.

In the Crespo pass, some here said that Crespo was unselfish, and he was. However, Crespo wasn't in a position to clearly score. Furthermore, Zlatan was surrounded by 3-4 Roma players and didn't have a clear line of sight.

I am not making excuses, but I am just surprised that some tried to portray those misses as something incredible, and they weren't.

I disagree. I believe Stankovic,Recoba and Solari can play in that position. We have enough subs. Please no more changes. We are fine as we are now.

Lukair said:
And I agree with you :p
I think Chino can play very well there (you just watch and see :p ), and Santiago can also play there if he must.

Hasan said:
I think that Recoba is just perfect for that position, just can't see better player on that postition in the market right now.

Who is Recoba? Stan? I don't know, I prefer him to be one of the 3 amongst the 3 midfielders. Solari? He is the best amongst what we have.

However, once again, Mancini is the answer for that. For real, he would be perfect in that role, he can play in either flank, and can be a half-striker like he showed brilliantly last year.

This player is a must have. If not this year, then next year. Would Roma refuse a package of Cruz+Recoba/Solari+$$ for him?

Chino can play behind the strikers. Solari is pure winger, and he is the best there, but he can play behind the strikers if he must as well (although I don't think he will be good there).

Stankovic can only play in center midfield, and How he can do that we've seen on saturday. He was unbelievable, it was if he was different man in the second half. One could say it is little difference, it's just pushing him more to the center, but in fact it is huge difference between these 2 tactics.

However, once again, Mancini is the answer for that. For real, he would be perfect in that role, he can play in either flank, and can be a half-striker like he showed brilliantly last year.

I think we are fine like we are. If we wouldn't let David go, we would have great squad for this set up. Amantino is great player, but Figo showed what he can do if he can have a free role play behind the strikers. I mean the guy was just like in his twenties.

We have to see also at the fact, that we signed quite a few players this summer, and I think to sign someone more would be too much.

Now its my turn,

I think Figo was great ! Like they said on inter.it, he was in great form !
Adriano really wasn't good, I think if he plays the whole season like this he can leave, we will earn a good price for him.

Cambi - Viera was great !, and I also thought Grosso played well.

I think it was a good second half, the first half was bad, bad defending, Matrix left gaps again and again and again in defence, and we only played long balls to the strikers, they didn't arrive, it was really, really bad.

In the second half you also got Ibra, who wanted to trick his oppenents when we were ahead, I don't like that at all, time wasting, even if you are in front, I hate it really !

lol, funny Hamed !! I do agree with you completely though, after having watched the game. I too am not that clear if Zlatan did take a shot and I did watch that part many times to make it sure. As for Crespo's pass in the penalty box, there too Zlatan was about to be surrounded by 3/4 defenders and had to take the shot pretty quick. He did take a good shot in the right corner of the post only to miss it by a small distance.

Anywaz, it's just his first competitive game and so is Adriano's. So, lets stop howling for atleast few Serie games.:D

I got a news flash for you guys, as probably most of you were not aware of it, like me.

I'm just rewatching the match, and we changed to 4-3-1-2 not in the second half, but already at... 30 minute of the first half, just after yellow card for Patrick. One who download the game can check it for himself.

maicon on right,j.zanetti on left - superb!

Yes you are right..

Mancini changed the formation from 4-4-2 to 4-3-1-2

by changing Deki from left wing to right of the midffild and

Figo from right wing to Attacking midffild..So from 0-3 to 4-3 :D

Take a look at this :

Inter.it said:
Inter played very well in the second half against Roma with a 4-3-1-2. Will we see this formation from the first minute in future matches?
"The first thing I want to say is that we switched to this formation from the 35th minute of the first half, not from the start of the second. We changed formation after letting in the third goal to try and have move cover and not concede any more goals. It went quite well, and in the second half it went better because we were able to reflect on the mistakes we had made and try to react. However, we used this formation for several weeks last season and it went quite well."

So... it says you're completely right...

But what do you want to say with this ?, we played better after that switch right ?
The rest of 1st half and the 2nd !

I didn't have to hear it from Mancio, I just watched the game again and it was obvious ;) When I wathced it Live I was so angry, and devastated, I didn't even notice that.

What I want to say ? Well... first I thought that changing the formation with entrance of Maicon was this boost that make this incredible come-back possible.

And now it seems that it was lots of things. Talking shit to them in half-time by Miha probably, and also Roma coming very deffensive, and also strange substitutions of Spaletti.

Yes, formation helped to do it, but it was not the key to this transition, so I need more games to see how it will go against other teams, as maybe it's not so great as I thought it will be :p

Neverless, I hope we'll play 4-3-1-2, at least in the beginning of the season.
