You put the 11 out that you feel the most confident can do the job. I don’t mind Acerbi playing if it’s determined that he’s match fit.

De Vrij needs to be mature enough to not get his feelings hurt if he doesn’t start every game.

Acerbi barely played in preseason. Zero competitive minutes thrown into a derby is a concern for me. No matter how experienced you are. Often times players of his age take a little longer to play into form as well. I remember Samuel in particular always having that issue.

I’d start De Vrij personally. I question whether it sends the right message to the group to immediately bench him after 3 consecutive clean sheets. And this is coming from someone who had serious concerns with renewing De Vrij.

Acerbi based on last year is our undisputed starter, DeVrij renewed knewing his sub role. He will play later in the game and in UCL.

Fingers crossed this works out this evening.

I want a Thu--La demolition job !!

my guess is that we need someone who can help organize and lead the defense during the game, rather than just high-quality individuals.

What’s this thing with underrating Barella so severely? Dude is legit world class and most probably one of the ten best central midfielders in the world. Look at our 2-0 against Fiorentina.

Especially look at the start of the attack, and tell me how many midfielders can retain possession in that situation like he did.

I appreciate us not flying too high and underrating our players but Barella is a world class player.
I actually think Barella is slightly overrated by Inter fans. He’ll occasionally have mediocre games, but fans will think he killed it because of two or three dazzling moves, as well as his abundance of crackhead energy.

It should also be said that he’s been our least imposing midfielder in the first three games.

Nevertheless, Barella is still Barella. A sloppy Barella is more still more likely to prove decisive than Miki & Hakan combined. He’ll often frustrate me for 75 minutes before providing a goal or assist.

It might to wrong to say that he’s overrated on the whole, but his individual mediocre performances are given a free pass at times.

In any case, this is not the game to be experimenting with Frattesi. Or Acerbi for that matter.

Look, even De Bruyne doesn't have 5/5 games all the time. And Barella is no De Bruyne, but he is good. Very good.

He’s allowed less than perfect games. The issue isn’t him, but with fans refusing to see his 3/5 games as anything less than 4.5/5

The amount of times I give him a generous rating of 6, only to see the average rating at 7.4 or something. If Brozovic had the same performance, his average rating would be around the 5 mark.

I'm not a fan of Acerbi for DeVrij sub, yes he was good last year, but he does't have match fitness for this type of game, DeVrij is on the role now and should sty here until Acerbi is fully match fit

2:3 for milan, eventually 2:2 but it will be a really tough one.
Sommer will have his first true test today.

Hopefully Inzaghi knows what he's doing with that Acerbi/SDV.

Yeah, it looks like a huge gamble to me. Even though Acerbi might be fully fit to play, he hasn't played in an actual match since beginning of August which is a lot. At the same time, de Vrij has been solid so far, so I think he would be robbed if he's benched in this one.

I'm all up for switching Acerbi for de Vrij in the near future but NOT for today.

Barella is not in good form lately. So, I don't mind if Inzaghi fields Frattesi instead.
One more reason to play Barella from the start and ask for a big match from him.

I guess de Vrij will start in CL if not here. Should not impact his confidence or anything cause it is also a very important game. I would also start him against Milan but it's a fair discussion for sure, not something like Gagliashit-Eriksen case.

We will play 4 matches in next 11 days, so Frattesi will surely get plenty of minutes and likely as a starter.

Limone needs to play with same line-up as previous matches. No need to complicate things in derby. Get the shit done and then make rotations in the upcoming matches.
