My first time in six years here opening a thread, jumped at the chance of doing it against a Spanish team in the knockouts.

Also, as I stressed in the lead up to this game, Atleti's biggest attacking threat comes down the left. Give Lino space to work with and you can run into problems. He gave Real Madrid problems every time he's faced them this year. Going with a more defensive approach down that side helped keep a lid on him, and even then he created a couple good chances while Darmian was in the game including getting Darmian to bite on a tackle and dribbling right by him. It was wiser to stay defensive there early and then bring on Dumfries later with fresh legs.
I don't think Darmian had his best game by any means but I do think the logic was sound for why Inzaghi played that position today the way he did.

Lets see what the table looks like before we decide to punt a Serie A game against a difficult opponent. Hopefully FIGC schedules that game for a Friday - as an aside, how the fuck is that game not confirmed yet for it's date and kickoff time? - and we have ample rest before the Wednesday return leg in Madrid.

10 years of FIFWell yeah if we had the money City has, we could have Osihmen as 3th forward and constantly rotate the Lautaro Thuram and him and doesn't matter who is the 4th striker it can be Klassen with 50 years old for what matters.

On another day, with better accuracy from our forwards, he could’ve had 3 assists.
But he sometimes played a dangerous game too. Like that Marseille roulette was totally unnecessary in my opinion.

10 years of FIFGreat performance by the team. It was never easy, and the boys felt the importance of the match, therefore in major time they lacked calmness. Usually we don't commit so many mistakes, especially in the build-up play, but at least we've gotten job done, so let's see if we can take advantage of the win (for the second leg).
Credit to subs in the second half. Very good impact though.
Such a shame that win was minimal. We've created some great chances throughout the match but then again, match importance have gotten into players' nerves. That's still not an excuse, but we gotta appreciate consistency of this team, and sometimes it's just a bad luck. Props to Limone for preparing the match in the possible way.
We need to be far more concrete in the second leg. We'll have chances again because they will have to open up and comeback, so we need to exploit that.
