i like the confidence, but Rodri is in a league of his own. Its not even close. Calhanoglu, this year, is for sure in the top 5. I'd pick him over Enzo for sure. Not sure about Kimmich and Kroos tho.

Besides that, he said that he was among the best at the role, a regista role.

Forget about Kroos, dude can't even run anymore.

Clearly Calhanoglu has been the better player the last 2 seasons.

While I agree that Rodri seems like the best midfielder in the world right now, let's not forget that Bernardo Silva, Wirtz, Odegaard, Vitinha, Barella, Zubimendi, Koopmeiners, Gundogan, Bellingham (who isn't really a CM right now tbh)... are all having impressive seasons. Help me out, I'm sure I've missed some players as well. Calhanoglu isn't just a de facto no.2 midfielder in the world right now, but he is in contention.

Pedri and Valverde have fallen a bit in 2023 and 2024, but they still have a nice chunk of their career in front of them, so they'll get there. De Bruyne haven't played that much, but dude is still effective on the pitch when he gets to play.

This is apples to oranges by now if you start comparing Rodri to Bernardo Silva.

I have the feeling like he is here for ages. But in reality this is his 3rd season at Inter. I hope he has legs for at least two more seasons on high level.

I wouldn't really say Valverde has fallen (even "a bit"; don't wanna overstate your words), he's just being used differently. He does a ton of the dirty work for Madrid in covering for Carvajal getting forward. If you asked Madrid fans, they'd quickly make it clear that he's undroppable in their XI. His goal totals are down compared to a year ago, but he played a lot more RW last season and had more chances. He's still got his thundercunt shot on him, he just doesn't quite get the same chances to show it off.

I thought he said he is the best midfielder, but now I see he said he is the best playmaker. My bad, altho I'm pretty sure I've read he said he is the best midfielder. Maybe it was a translation issue

He did also talk a lot about his other weaknesses on the interview, which I appreciate, but perhaps a bit of an overshare from a tactical point of view

He just turned 30 in February. Why wouldn't he have legs for a few more seasons? His partner in crime runs strong at 35. Hakan should be good for at least 3- 5 years at Inter.

I'm convinced now that 30 is 25 in today's football and 35 is 30. Hakan will be good for 5 more season.

Because he is running a lot. People are different, so that why I hope he keeps this level for 2 more seasons at least.

I think Rodri remains clearly above him, but like others have said, on a league level he's very easily performing at a Top 3 in the world standard.

Between the Atletico match and the CL final, I wouldn't say he's been convincing in the biggest European games if I'm honest. Was good against Porto and Barca last year though.

Milan doesn't count anymore as they are our perennial bitches.

That would be terrible. Not sure if we could survive in Wanda Metropolitano without Hakan. We better pray he's going to recover fully until then.

Now i understand why he tried Barella as regista, Vs Atalanta it might be Barella there and Fratessi starter, well, its between Aslani and Fratessi for that spot.

I just read in one Bulgarian group that Hakan will miss next two games at least , and he will be in doubt about Atletico too.
I don't know the source, but it will be a huge blow if he cannot recover for the return leg.

Last time Barella started as a regista in Inzaghi system it was a disaster. Inter-Sassuolo 0-2.
